FYP

I've been in corporate for too long.

That happened twice in the last year.

Thankful that i made it thru both times.

Nothing is guaranteed but i don't see it happening again soon as the most recent layoffs/restructuring was in January.

If i could find another fully remote position i might consider it, but i do feel like my position is relatively safe as there are only 3 of us on the accounting side in the US and due to regulations, they can't operate on much less than that.

This is good. Definitely shouldn't piss you off. Who cares what your title is, as long as they're paying you fairly.

Now, if they delay the extra cash as well, then you should be pissed off.

They did that too. But it was company wide. Instead of January 1 pay increases, they pushed it to April 1. Their claim was that this would allow them to use the whole year to evaluate everyone.....but why couldn't they just use 12 months of data from whenever they started evaluations? Whatever. It's just corporate garbage.

I think i could make more with a new company, but then i may not be remote and I'd have to learn the new system and procedures. I'm good with my pay for the time being. Being remote is worth at least 20k per year in time and expenses saved.

j/k. One time I was at Wendy's and I saw a couple college age guys buy a ton of nuggets, their entire tray was filled up to the max. That day the story of Nuggz McMuffin was born.

Four+ is fine 😀

I'd also throw vertical monitors into the mix. I can see it being a really useful way to organise stuff, but the look of them makes me feel unreasonably angry...

Not a fan. Former cow'orker dedicated his vertical to Outlook. He sucked, so I assume (look out!) anyone using that setup also sucks.

The vertical screen is a typical setup for coders, as it allows you to see more lines at a time.

But if you’re just using it for Outlook, that’s dumb.

That the loan shark threads are now doing what the Bed Bugs thread did earlier this year.

Something I never agreed with is "the number of lines in a function needs to be less than

That being said, I never used a vertical setup, so can't say if it's helpful or not.

Can't remember what I was watching recently but had it's warning blurb at the start including one for tobacco and alcohol use!

That reminds me, I was clicking around yesterday and stumbled upon a show called 'Genius' on IMDB, a drama looking at some of history's greatest minds.

Very good cast and some solid reviews, but it was the Plot Keywords that really sold it to me, the second most relevant in particular...

My first thought seeing that was, "Oh, that's actually great for email." But I don't have to deal with a bunch of email.

that you randomly put an apostrophe in the word coworker

It's not coworker. It's short for cow porker.
