Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD
Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...
These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.
To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.
2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.
Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
creating division, they didnt want the other party, the palestinian authority, which would have brought them closer to peace and a 2 state solution. what they wanted was hamas in power, so they can profit from the chaos and then annex more land etc. its also good for the lukad party to stay in power, makes them more relevant. dirty politics.
but if you hold a tiger next to you, like siegfried and roy and you get bitten, and then cry foul play, nobody should listen to this bs.

What happened to Roy was a tragedy.
But the analogy would be more like if you had a tiger you raised to be a man-eating killer next to you and it attacked-- that wasn't the case with Seigfried & Roy-- that tiger had never killed anyone.

a tiger is a ticking timebomb lucky, you have no chance vs a tiger.
its a pittbull on stroids. it had to happen sooner or later. animal experts say you cant hold a tiger. also not lions, or hyannas, or huge crocodiles. these will always have a bad day and just eat you...

Nah they're just big cuddly kitties.
One of the best Halloween costumes I've seen was the year after that when a girl dressed as Roy with a stuffed Tiger safety pinned to her collar.
this is not a normal society. this is not something to be defended.
and its even more grotesque to use the holocaust to defend this.
No, clearly, they had the whole thing wished on them. But the Arabs could have adapted to the situation, accepted the UN Partition Plan (which gave them more of Palestine than it gave the Zionists) and settled for that, and unfortunately they didn't. Of course it is also true that the Zionists didn't really settle for it either and had a long-term strategy to seize the West Bank, as they did in 1967, and it's beyond dispute that their continuing occupation and settlements in the area are illegal.
Don't know where you get 1942 from but
Jews were being slaughtered throughout europe. Nobody would let them immigrate anywhere
Britian was losing control of the mandate because of the conflict. Brit realized they needed to give both people their nations . They were going to give half to each
They then gave "transjordan" the the "Palestinians" that lived on that 72% of the mandate and planned to give the rest to the jews. But there was still conflict
After world War 2 ended they relinquished the rest of the mandate and the UN decided to give 55% of what was remaining to form Israel and 45% to form Palestine
The Palestinian people and their arab neighbors rejected this. Jordan occupied what you call the West bank and Jerusalem rom 1947-1967 and Egypt occupied gaza from 1947-1973. Jordan officially annexed the West bank. After continuing to attack Israel they were both forced to withdraw by 1973
So Israel was formed to create peace in the region and the arabs rejected that
There was no country of Palestine for hundreds of years
The British won it from the ottomans
Both people deserve a state. But that involves respecting the others right to exist
If you hate jews you are probably disappointed that the Final solution didn't work and that the jewish population of the world has Finally reached pre holocaust levels. You are probably also upset that there will always be a safe place for jews to go to. Just because these things upset you and you are disgusted at Israel's right to exist, that doesn't make you an antisemite right?
THERE is a contant falsification of events going on here.
FIRST bibi and the LUKAD party wanted hamas and funded them.
THEN these same guys that they propped and funded, shocker, attacked them.
this was all wanted, so they can get more land in the west banks. and now were now, israel going nuts over something that they instigated themselves.
This us so antisemitic is not even funny. The way you guys spin this **** is shameful
They're soldiers. I get that it's not a volunteer army but the sort of people off fighting on the front lines are always going to be a bit twisted I'm pretty sure.
Right but I'm more outraged at the headline from a mainstream Israeli outlet normalizing this crap.
And the reason it's "going viral" is not bc of a few twisted soldiers but rather bc the whole society is relishing it.
As critical as I am of the USA, I could never imagine a headline like this from even the Post. But I guess I gotta appreciate the honesty.

its kinda weird calling Israel a safe place for Jews considering how many are dying every day
remember a few days ago when a some people here were saying that there was a rift between Biden and Israel and that Biden didnt support the Rafah invastion.
looks like ole Vic was right again. such a mystery. never saw it coming.
hey they need more bombs blowing up 12 year olds.
blowing up 12 year olds with bombs is a good thing, apparently.
most of these "targets" in palestine are under 18.
Fulfilling old sales, as required by law, does not show that there is no rift between Biden and Netanyahu. If the expectation was that Biden would stop fulfilling previous contracts then that was unrealistic.
Lol
Liberals be like, it would be unrealistic to not fund genocide
These are contracts for weapons which were previously sold, or in other words not "funding".
The "funding" part has been in the news a lot because it has been held up for months.
We will need to see if the funding part passes or not, and how it changes.
Lol, I've heard a lot of excuses for genocide, but not breaking an old sales contract takes the cake.
Oh hey the same crew who is in the Ukraine thread blaming the Ukrainians for Putin trying to exterminate them are in here calling contracts from 2008 being fulfilled genocide. Shocking.
These aren't the same as refunding something at a dollar store.
Well, you know the US could just say until you stop the genocide we are not fulfilling the rest of the contract. If you don't like it sue us.
The see what happens.
