Lost Spirits is apparently closing - if people have a chance to make it there before the final day comes I'd strongly recommend it, I thought it was a cool experience.

Mystère is more acrobatic. LOVE is loud bright and mostly dancing. I saw KA in like 2018 and liked it but the other two would probably be better for young girls.

Blue Man Group is another good choice

I’m not sure if I missed it or what but I’m in the “O is the best cirque show” camp and I’d recommend that for t(w)eens as well. My now-8-then-7 year old liked both Mystere and O (has not seen others).

I don't disagree. it's also the most expensive show and there are pretty much never discounts.

I thought I was near dead a number of times but got lucky once or twice, and that's all it took to get through 3 or 4 levels of card death. Not true card death, but hands I don't want to shove, like weak aces or suited connectors with big gaps.

I won a whole 600 bucks from a $400 entry.

Congrats-sounds like you were on the edge of elimination many times, which makes your min cash even more rewarding!

Apparently the Monorail will cease to exist, although probably not until 2028:

There has been talk about extending it to the airport. They should do that, along with to the football stadium and the proposed baseball park. Then maybe people would actually use it. It doesn't serve much purpose as it is now.

Every time I've used it there's been lots of people on it.

Every time I've used it there's been lots of people on it.

Huh, I've been to Vegas lots of times and it never served any purpose for anything I was doing. But I've always done more things on the west side of the strip.

To use it, I would have to walk through a casino on the west side, manage to cross LV Blvd, through another casino on the east side of the strip, all the way to the back, then do the same thing at the end of the trip. Probably taking about the same total time as walking, with just a little bit of effort saved, and paying $6 for the privilege.
Doesn't seem worth it to me. If you could take it from the airport I would have actually used it plenty of times.

Where were you going to and from to make it worth the trouble?

they would never extend the monorail to the airport. just like they pretty much no longer have free hotel airport shuttles.

i just can't believe the level of stupidity and corruption that would be required in combination to build a big public transit infrastructure and not address the biggest use case for it

I think your mistake is considering it a 'big public transit infrastructure'. I don't know who or what operates it (ETA: LVCVA) but it was never 'public' and barely 'infrastructure'

Should have run Fremont St to airport over LV Blvd, but I don't know what palms need to be greased for that to happen.

P

From mid strip to Westgate and Sahara for some semi-private organized games and also occassionally to MGM Grand.

"The Monorail is operating very successfully."

Haha, no.

Hi

Any recommendations where to watch the Champions League Final in Vegas? It’s right after the start of the WSOP on June 1st. Was thinking Stadium Swim in Downtown, but since it starts at noon I don’t know if that makes sense?

Any good places on the Strip?

I know that TVs are all over the place, but I rather watch in a venue with other soccer fans than in a sportsbook.

Depends on your affiliation and which teams make the final.

Example: If City or Arsenal play in the final, Crown & Anchor might be the place to be. If Bayern and/or Dortmund makes it there's going to be a watch party at Hofbräuhaus. No idea where Primera Division (or League 1) fans watch their games.

given that (i assume) it'll be noonish on a quiet sports saturday (no NCAA action), would many places have big screen with volume?

honestly, for best experience, walk around the day before and ask

A bit late on the discussion about the Cirque shows, but saw this posted last night and wanted to relay. This would imply Ka is likely to be shuttered at some point this year based on Vital's track record. The Mirage also just announced that Love will close in July as well.

I knew about LOVE but I did want to see KA again.
