For abortion they are the most radical to the left in the first world or close to it. For trans issues same thing.
then there are issues on which democrats are incredibly divided within the coalition so you have both reasonable potentially center right takes on climate change, and complete banana Greta boys takes as well, all within the same party.
Or unions (what happened with school closures and democrat teacher unions with COVID didn't happen in almost any other country including leftist ones; but it didn't happen in all states).

I don't know enough about abortion around the world but whatever. The Dems are decent on abortion, imo.
As for trans issues, we're talking fringe ****. Gaza is more a hot button issue and that's not moving a needle.
As for unions, odd you bring up teacher unions when American teacher unions are among the most effective unions in the world. This isn't ideological. Teachers unions are pragmatic. Until it was proven as such, Dem cities were hotbeds of non-union charter school development.
Dems are divided as hell but when push comes to shove, they elect centrists to run the party. The left is there but their voice is weak. Power and decibel levels don't correlate.

Well, if you like your politics in the form of memes and slogans, driven by professional hate influencers who exist in a parasitic relationship with each other and make a living dreaming up zingers, then it is great.

Horror, teachers unions in the USA might be effective in doing teachers interests.
But they are incredibly bad for actual educational outcomes, which is why the USA spends more per pupil than basically any country in the world with very mid results.
And what they did during COVID was worse than what unions did basically everywhere else. They pushed for schools to stay closed the longest in the first world and where they succeeded it was disastrous for kids.
I bring that up because some democrats actually tried to fight those insanities, others were helping teachers stay at home while getting paid anyway.
There aren't only national leaders.
Democrats give a platform to insanity in many cases at the state level, and in some cases in Congress as well.
