they shoot rockets at military outposts. Israel maims civilians and primarily health care workers.
this is Western values. they set rules of war and international law and then break them at every opportunity.
no its yet another example of why Israel needs to go. terroristic genocidal countries that target civilians need to be defeated.
most Western liberals firmly believe that winning wars is all about murdering the most civilians possible. I know bc I used to think this myself at an inherent level.
Hezbollah does not believe this and they are focusing their resources on military targets.

Where's Israel gonna go? They are dug in and realize the world is against them. They are fanatical and brutal. They aren't going anywhere. I've never understood why anybody would mess with them. It's the same result every time.

ofc the world is against them. they have just killed 100s of thousands of kids in Gaza. they have just maimed a bunch of health care workers in Lebanon.
with any luck they go the same way that South Africa and the Boers went but that is probably not likely at this point.
Western liberal human rights is celebrating the killing and maiming of thousands of civilians.
Hezbollah wishes they had the ability to plant explosives in devices that are issued to Isreali soldiers. It's ****ing genius and they wouldn't hesitate to push the button because the soldiers may be around their family or civilians. Myself personally also wouldn't be calling it an act of terrorism. There'd be so many Allah Akbars flying we'd probably hear them on the west coast.
Game recognize game

and yet they have not been targeting civilians at all in the last year despite the ability to repeatedly penetrate Israeli defenses.
and besides, this terrorist attack mostly hit civilians as usual for Western actions.
I know Hezbollah were using pagers because they were concerned that their cell phones were compromised. But this is the first I heard of widespread pager use by civilians. In what capacity are civilians in Lebanon using pagers in 2024?
Israel claims to have intercepted a shipment that was specifically for Hezbollah. Considering how much use pagers see now it's believable. Not that I think they'd care much if the non Hezbollah casualties were guaranteed to be much higher.

hospitals and paramedics primarily. also construction, law enforcement, civil infrastructure.
in fact one of the main hospitals in Beirut switched their pagers just 2 weeks ago. these were not the same pagers thank god.

So your thesis is the pager attack mainly hit hospital workers and paramedics, followed by construction workers, law enforcement and civil infrastructure?
Do you think Lebanon/Hezbollah's own reporting is going to support this thesis?

Who even uses pagers anymore? And the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon just happened to have one of these pagers?

In Lebanon, Hezbollah is an actual govt party and has seats in Parliament. It seems several members of Lebanon's Parliament (Hezbollah party members coincidentally) were also injured. Maybe they were also moonlighting as hospital workers though.
I will say that 60% of hospital workers in Lebanon (and everywhere else) are women. Whereas Hezbollah militants are pretty much 100% men. So the sex breakdown of the casualties should probably give us some idea how accurate Victor's thesis is.
Good article from a couple of months ago on Hezbollah's usage of pagers to evade location tracking:
FWIW I dont think anymore Hezbollah militants (or Israelis FWIW) should be blinded, maimed or die. Towards this end, I think Hezbollah should retreat above the Litani River (as promised under UN Resolution 1701) and stop firing rockets into Israel.
Good article from a couple of months ago on Hezbollah's usage of pagers to evade location tracking:
Hezbollah has used pagers therefore its ok to blow up all the pagers is some pretty amazing logic. but its par for the course from pro-Israeli apologists.
then why post it? just read Lebanese sources and see that this mainly impacted civilians and noncombatants.
This seems like the most likely scenario:
Behind the scenes: A former Israeli official with knowledge of the operation said Israeli intelligence services planned to use the booby-trapped pagers it managed to "plant" in Hezbollah's ranks as a surprise opening blow in an all- out war to try to cripple Hezbollah.
But in recent days, Israeli leaders became concerned that Hezbollah might discover the pagers. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his top ministers and the heads of the Israel Defense Forces and the intelligence agencies decided to use the system now rather than take the risk of it being detected by Hezbollah, a U.S. official said.
