Yoav Gallant gave an interview and admitted they used the Hannibal directive. I dont speak Hebrew obv but you can clearly hear the interviewer say Hannibal.

he said a bunch of other interesting things. he admitted that Hamas had agreed to a ceasefire deal in early July was actually better (for Israeli) and the final deal allowed for 110 more "convicted murders" to be freed.

he also said that Hezbollah was onto the pagers and they had to assassinate some people in August. this is inline with many rumors from around the time.

The five essentials to the modern antisemite:

4. Believe all victims, while denying any claim from an Israeli Victim (no proof of rape, Hannibal directive, they don’t want the hostages and so on)

LOOOOL

also this one

they don’t want the hostages and so on

also this one

You are learning that Israel also has a KFC. His name is Bezalel Smotrich. This was public pretty much every time a deal got submarined by him.

many people argued in this thread that it was always Hamas's fault that there was no ceasefire.

As in the ceasefire Hamas broke on Oct 07. Along with all the other ceasefires they broke. But I'm sure they won't eventually break this one, trust me bro.

armed resistance is legal and morally justified

Already answered, they've nothing to resist as they've had autonomy- sans subsequent elections- for nearly 20 years, so they've zero moral justification and certainly no legal. Maybe in The People's Republic of Victorland they do, but not on planet Earth. (Well, maybe in Iran, but who tf wants to live there anyway, except Hamas, you and possibly leaders of the Kinahan cartel, so it's all good)

people living under blockade dont have autonomy.

People living under Hamas don't have autonomy. They could have had a state years ago, but no, River to the Sea blah blah. Didn't work out for them did it? Won't work out for them in the future if they never learn to compromise and recognise Israel. Certainly won't work out for them if they break this ceasefire too.

I agree. That was what I'd call the IDF response.

you really need to listen to Israelis more.

Guess BLUE got him to the hospital only to find a large pile of rubble.

Woah on the same day the Trump/Gaza news broke, there was a big USA shift towards Iran. That story was buried.

This is definitely one Trump got right. That's gotta be the most aggressive the USA has ever been on dismantling the Iranian nuclear weapons program. Pretty impressive!

Iran has a giant black fleet and does a tremendous amount of trade, especially of fossil fuels, on the black market in the open. And everyone just ignores it. There are actually Iranian human rights groups that document all the black market activity and call on western nations, who are often the direct recipients of the black market goods, to honor the sanctions. But everyone just ignores these groups. As long as this is the norm I dont really see how Trump "talking tough" moves the needle much.

For all we (you and I) know Iran already has nuclear weapons. If they dont, it is only because they fear the US and/or Israel will attack them if they try. Obama/Biden's nuclear treaties and Trump's bluster I dont think really matter. All that matters is if they perceive there is a threat of military reprisals.

You are welcome to believe this. But you also have to accept Israel doesn't have any moral obligation to let Hamas win.

maybe Blue can confirm the translation

It should come to a shock to pretty much no one that has been paying any attention that after 1+ years of fake "Gaza is being starved" stories, the only people that look like they have actually been starved are Israeli hostages.

I read this from someone else on Twitter, so not trying to take credit, but that person noted that Hamas previously did hostage exchanges intentionally in rubble, to evoke sympathy for them. But after Trump's rhetoric of the last week this last exchange was done in an intact area, probably to show Gaza is not actually uninhabitable and people dont need to be relocated.

by jalfrezi

Ethnic cleansing is the 1 million Jews who have been kicked out of Arab countries since 1948.

What Trump is proposing is common sense. If the Gazans are allowed to stay they will take any money given to them and use toward terrorism. Trump wants to cut off this money and make the Gazans figure it out on their own. Every other group of people seem to be able to move on and often prosper in the face of hardship. These people are like welfare recipients who never get a job because the government is taking care of them. Also, Israel doesn't want them as neighbors anymore and who blames them. The Gazans are keeping this region from flourishing. Why not let Trump rebuild Gaza into a livable civilized nation. If you are willing to give up your hate and behave you can buy property here. If you want to continue your hate it's time to move along.

BTW. I don't think initially anybody will be forced out of Gaza. They are being given the opportunity to leave this "open air prison". They are being given the opportunity to reinvent their lives.

This is a good thing for everyone.

We will create an open air prison for this race of people then give them the option of leaving or dying of disease after we've destroyed their hospitals.

It's their choice!

--At this point I would say Hamas may intentionally be making Palestinians look as horrible as possible so that no one will take them. What sane nation would ever willingly bring in people that act like this and revel in their own depravity?

The sad thing is that this kind of behavior is probably perfectly acceptable to a good chunk of the world. I dont think we can really underestimate how so much of the world operates on a tribal, zero sum level; where "the other" is completely dehumanized. The challenge of the civilized world is to make sure we dont end up like this.

This is exactly why Trump wants to take over Gaza. Enough is enough!
