seattle @ la galaxy
final will be out west as they're the best 2 teams left
and in other news, messi has hired javier mascherano to be his next manager? weird
when i first heard he was headed to miami i thought they meant as a player lol
whitecaps fired vanni today, which ... ok(?). no apparent replacement in mind, no timetable for hiring either, but like, it's almost december, and training camps open in january or something. classic donk ass general manager press conference; thinks the players are all really good of course because he picked them, won't be making any major changes there (lol). lots of results-oriented thinking on display in his analysis throughout. this is gonna be a disaster, because this is not that good of a team. hopefully even less of the games are on tv next season so i won't have to watch it...
final about to kick off: nyrb @ lag
henry vs beckham! no errrr, it's uhh ... puig? oh wait, he just tore his acl...
anyway, it's on fox

had no idea that kendall roy was coaching nyrb ... nice to see he bounced back after his dad died and all that, whatever happened there. anyway he's got them back in it, 2-1 at the half
just remembered the MLS final was today (zero publicity in the USA for this that I've seen btw)...ok congrats LAG - who needs Zlatan?

just kind of glanced at the moves on wiki and grabbed the names that jumped out to me, what else happened?
looked like a bunch of the good teams (miami, lafc, lag, etc) lost a few starters
ah s**t...MLS is starting again? LOL talk about being buried in American sports coverage fwiw.
the only notable results of today that I see are:
InterMessi steals a garbage draw in MessiTime and:
San Jose wins 4-0. Where did heck did this come from?

You forgot ATL shattering the incoming transfer record by spending 22 milly + addons for an Ivorian dude Latte Lath (had a couple good seasons w/Middlesbrough in the Championship). In addition to spending another 25 million on AlmirΓ³n and a dude from Atalanta. They also bring back Saba.
That attack looks absurd on paper and Latte Lath opened with a brace against Montreal, and let me tell you, goals don't come easy when you face Montreal.
The 22 million spent on one guy is Montreal's transfer budget over 50 seasons.
What happened to Toronto? They used to be among the biggest spenders, now they have the 2nd least valuable squad in the league. MLSE stopped caring?
portland gotta be pretty sick of the whitecaps by now. beat them 5-0 or whatever in the playoffs last year, today an early red card and vancouver up 2-0 already.
jayden nelson back in mls after a couple years in europe and already 2 assists to his name, which matches his total from 45 games with tfc lol
3 assists now, and it could be 4 or 5. jayden nelson going tf off tbh
would be sick if he solidifies himself as a legit threat at rw this season
edit: and now a goal, then done for the day. decent hour of work
24' Gauld R. (Nelson J.) [VAN]
32' Vite P. (Nelson J.) [VAN]
53' Adekugbe S. (Nelson J.) [VAN]
61' Nelson J. [VAN]
lolol tfc
Just crown the Caps already.
who needs messi when u can have anders dreyer
IN before Chucky and Anders bring the MLS Cup home to expansion SDFC..

thanks. yeah i wish wiki had the transfer figures on their table there, makes it easier to figure out which players are relevant. i considered checking a 2nd source for that info but that felt like way too much effort lol. were there any other big transfers? i probably will look it up, now...

Lorenzo Insigne
$7,500,000 Annual, Expires June 2026
Bernardeschi
$3,125,000 Annual, Expires December 2026
guess they're just waiting for these contracts to expire because no one wants anything to do with those wages? bleak
lolRSL
The only MLS/LigaMX to fail to advance against a non MLS/LigaMX
SΓΊper ClΓ‘sico (Chivas v. Club AmΓ©rica) is looking pretty tasty as a R16 matchup.
Caps w/a tough one vs. Monterrey, who have been the CONCACAF kings of late (won 5 of last 14), but their league form has been mediocre.
San Jose now 2-0-0. They win tonight 2-1 despite being down a man most of the 2nd half.
Bruce Arena is the American Jose Mourinho amirite? It always starts off great but then it goes to s**t for no apparent reason at some point.
What is the point of Montreal even existing as a club? There are no exciting players, never any interesting signings, and you already know the team can't compete. Our 1 "DP" is Vrioni, who NER were ecstatic to get rid of.
I couldn't be arsed to go to matches even if I were still living there. I guess I was super lucky to have been able to see Piatti and Drogba-mania in the 2 years I lived there.
check out this ridiculous equalizer at the death from last night:
and this happened right after Benteke moonballed a PK lol. MLS = non-stop excitement baby!!!
oh great, now he's injured. yeah he kept making full pitch runs up and down the wing, and i'm thinking to myself is this really wise given how he's always pulling something? apparently not
aging fullbacks really need to pick their spots...
