As far as the Gaza operation, for good or bad Israel is demonstrating they are not going back to the status quo that has existed for 40 years (Israel lets Hamas militarize Gaza, fighting starts, Israel does a limited operation and completely withdraws, Hamas quickly rebuilds military capabilities, rinse and repeat).
Israel has massive surveillance of Gaza, is noting every tunnel, camera, booby trap, rocket platform and weapons cache Hamas is planting; and then is going to destroy it all. This is also sending a signal to the Arab gulf nations that starting the rebuilding process while Hamas is still in charge is going to be lighting money on fire, as Israel wont hesitate to destroy everything.
The post 10/7 reality is that the Palestinian territories have no future until Hamas abdicates. And obviously Hamas bad faith behavior during direct talks with US envoys made the Trump administration come to the same conclusion, and are giving Netanyahu carte blanche to act.
But obviously this is politically risky for Israel. If Trump is replaced in 4 years (or less) with someone with a different vision, Israel can find itself a political pariah on the world stage.

It’s a false equivalency on every merit, as the prosecution of Jews in Germany stated long before the plan was even brought up. On the other hand, and as you are very well aware of, Israel has a 20% Arab population, that have full rights and no one in talking about deporting them.

Hamas released the hostages only under ceasefire. You guys killed another last night. The message to any impartial observer is clear. Israel is happy to murder all of the hostages so long as they can continue murdering Palestinian children.
