Do I need a Real ID? Can I use my passport instead, if so?

Thanks guys, but there's a lot of dumbshit going on this year and im trying to keep up for the two whole events im playing.

.

Also, can I pay with CC in at the cage or is that only for the app? Thank you in advance for whoever takes time to answer

I don’t think they care if your ID is a REAL ID or not. That’s only for domestic flights.

And yes, you can pay with CC but it needs to be verified first. When you get your ID verified, they’ll verify the CC you use on the app to register. Once ID and CC are approved, you can register for whatever you want through the app.

Thank you. But just to clarify, when I get verified can I just roll up to the cage and just pay with CC there instead of cash? Or do all cc purchases (entries) have to be done over the app?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to be clear before I go. Thank you.

Buy in with cc over the app now, get verified and verify the cc at the same time. Otherwise you'll have to verify twice.

Sorry to beat a dead horse on this, I still need clarity. Can someone give straight yes/no answers to these questions?

I want to buy in using a credit card. I've gotten the app. But I don't want to use the credit card on the app. Can I stroll up to the window and pay with credit card without using the app, once I'm verified?

Are there 2 separate lines for verification? 1 for identity verification and 1 for credit card verification?

Thanks!

Yea im weird like that too, when dealing with larger sums of money I prefer to just do it in person and get a physical receipt or something. I know ultimately it'll be on the app, just like the purchase at the cage.

Appreciate everyone's patience. Especially Dr. Meh and dimeat. Crsseyed, im glad im not alone..to roll all the new **** out with big money and so many people at the same time is a bad idea. Shoulda done it slowly, but I get it- new brand.

regarding the verification of the ID: on the website I read you need an ID with home address
None of mine has it..do you really need to also bring like an utility bill with the address on it?

Lol what a show. My address isn't even accurate, but whatever. Can't imagine that's an issue. Im bringing my passport just in case and im American

I was concerned about this as well, not in vegas yet but I went to the Caesers website and updated my address on their website to match what is on my Id just to be safe.

Can you link where you did that if you dont mind?

This app also potentially discloses your staking activity if you buy pieces of action thru poker stakes (the old pocket Fives ) . And it's does so for TOTALLY UNRELATED EVENTS including those completed months ago. Discloses your investment, your % of action, and your WINNING amount. I came across this info for a friend's account as I was following him in the mystery million.

by riverph7 m

IMO WSOP+ , Pokerstake.com and GGPoker are in serious violation of privacy legal boundaries and laws.

I sent an email complaining about this disclosure and TO THEIR CREDIT they replied and removed all of my personal staking wagers thru Poker Stakes (old Pocket Fives) just as they said they would. So they are at least listening and paying attention to legit concerns.

This was the reply I received.

Hello XXX,

Sorry for the delay in our reply and thank you for your patience.

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing your concerns with us. We take your feedback very seriously, and we understand the importance of protecting your privacy.

We want to assure you that we have addressed your concerns internally and have removed the staking information from your account. Going forward, this information will no longer be displayed.

Your personal details will remain private and are only required for mandatory verification at the venue, not for public display. We are continuously working to improve our systems and safeguard your information.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Best regards,
WSOP Plus Support Team

All this talk of CC verification. I chose the PayPal option on the WSOP+ app to buy my event 'ticket'. Now what? Do they verify the CC that my PayPal account is linked to? Or do they just verify my PayPal account somehow? Color me confused.

PayPal is the easiest way. Just ID verification. Whatever card you used to load up your PayPal is irrelevant to them. PayPal can be used on the app and with no fees. At least, that’s how it was when I was there last week and my brother paid with PayPal. I doubt it has changed, though.

I would say I’m 99% sure you could pay directly at the window with CC whenever you would like as long as you’re willing to wait in line. Can’t say 100% sure because I haven’t done it, but I doubt they’ll turn down money if you want to pay in person.

Just be prepared to hear them tell you every time you do it that you can pay directly on the app.

Does anyone know if you can register multiple credit cards while doing verification

Only if you used them to buy a seat. The line is empty now unless you're going right before a big weekend NLHE event.

No you have to use the CC on the app before you get the CC verified (one time per each method of payment.) Paypal and cash verification is in person.
Paying at the window with CC just makes the window clerk put your CC info into the app like you would do. Just like not having the app on your phone you can still register with an email but it means the clerk has to create an app account for you.

You can alternatively pay with CC on paypal which requires no extra verification (I have done both with two different cards, and refunded both one time to check that it works.)

Now you have to show up in person to be verified it's you not someone else when you sit down at the tables.

1. There are no longer lines to get verified. Looked yesterday and no lines at all.

2. All the questions being posted and not answered can be tweeted at Kevmath to get an answer or posted in the WSOP app where they get answered fairly quickly

For those that like to nerd out on year-after-year statistics, last year's Colossus (which was $400) had 19337 entries broken down to these flights:
Flight A: 4643
Flight B: 6105
Flight C: 8589

This year's Colossus is now $500 with 4 flights. The first flight has 3378. My guess is that we will surpass last year's entry count by close to a thousand people, and surpass $3 million in prize pool compare to last year's $2, 834, 370.

I might take a day trip flight there on Saturday just to do this.

It's a great tournament! I already punched my ticket to day 2 yesterday. It really does have an amazing structure, especially considering it's a $500 buy-in... 50, 000 starting stack and 40 minute levels from the start. It might even go up to 60 minute levels on day 2? Not sure about that. Anyway good luck if you give it a shot!

At my table, the "amazing structure" was made moot by everyone betting twice as much as normal. That 50k vanished in a hurry.

Sorry to hear that. When people are betting twice as much it kind of forces you to play twice as tight.

Anyway there are still more flights so good luck if you jump back in! After playing several events so far I've found that the luck of the table draw is huge. I've been on some very soft tables full of recreationals and others where most of the players are solid grinders. I was fortunate to only have to contend with one solid pro on day one of the Colossus and everyone else was mainly recreational players.

Anyone know where we can find WSOP satellite results? Curious how many runners these are getting and can’t find it anywhere. Hendon appears to have the forward schedule but can’t find results from last week.

The results are in the WSOP+ app. Make sure you click "Show Completed" in the filter to display the tournaments that have been completed.
