An aside having nothing to do with anything here thus far -
Had the movie Pig in my DVR for months & months; finally got around to watching it.
I worked for me. Probably not everybody's cup of tea.
4 avocados.
in my imaginative past creation of future memories Phat Mack had this St. John song ready to play but stepped aside and allowed space for my post
How the hell do you have a "Hot Fun in the Summertime" thread without Hot Fun in the Summertime?
release the summer of my senior year, although i never was a hagar fan
Had a great time up in Milwaukee this week! Nothing better than chilling with your oldest friends, drinking, eating, playing cards, playing golf and watching baseball. It was a blast and the Brew Crew won 2 out of 3. The day game on Wednesday was a sellout as the Marqee baseball matchup of the day with Pittsburghs phenom (Skenes) going up against Milwaukees phenom (Miseroiski). Skenes got knocked around and Miz was fantastic consistently throwing 100+ mph.
But it feels good to be home again too. After 8 days in Vegas and then a couple days at home and 3 days in Milwaukee I really want to get into my natural routine again. At least for a month until I head north to Alaska. Its been and will continue to be a busy summer.
Also I was glad I got a chance to see some of the athletes before they entered the arena!

can only imagine the epitome of summer must taste like wiskey brats and beer at the ball park

We also (sorta) got featured in an mlb.com article about the game. We are the fraternity brothers playing cards. So I am pretty famous now 😀
have nicknames for the state changed without me being notified?
Ah, got it. Sorry I missed that, Red, that's a nice one.

I don't mean to be uptight but I think you and your friends are too young to be drinking.
Mrbaseball is a star. At least around here.

Some annual, holiday baseball game occurred, except this year, by some unexpected quirk of fate, two big time pitchers were constrained to play, making it a much bigger game?

No holiday, just a routine Wednesday afternoon baseball game. But it got a lot of hype because the two young pitchers are highly touted to become superstars. Probably the two hottest pitching prospects in the game right now.
Was never a catcher but did play mostly first base both in little league and later in softball leagues

Mourning the loss of my cat, Jojo. She was around 14-15, hard to tell because she was a rescue. She got very sick on Friday. We took her to the vet and they said that she suffered a stroke, perhaps multiple strokes and that she had neurological damage, and likely lost sight. We made the decision to give her a peaceful passing. We had time to hold her and say our goodbyes. My wife held her as she passed. I'm thankful it went by quickly and pain free. We're having a really tough time this weekend. We woke up Saturday morning crying. Random parts through the day one of us would cry, then the other. For such a small animal she made a big impression and took up so much time and space in our lives. I keep looking for her. Half expecting her to walk in front of me, then meow and lead me to her food dish, acting as if she were on the brink of starvation and that I'm her savior for the moment. I'm forever grateful for the love and happiness she brought us. We have a doggo to keep us occupied, she's about 2 years old and she's also a rescue, a mini schnauzer mix.

I'm sorry for your loss, Cro. You made the right decision of course.
