President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

You really think crime isnt less reported when it's gang banger on gang banger in a gang city You must be living in another reality dude.

First, although it may be harder to prosecute a gang killing, that doesn't mean the killing goes unreported. Again, if you shoot up a party and kill two people, that crime most definitely will be "reported," even if no one is willing to testify. The police aren't going to pretend like there isn't a dead body in the street.

Second, are you under the impression that gang violence is a bigger problem on a per capita basis in NYC than it is in many small cities like Birmingham, AL? If so, you are living in another reality.

So who was president when the violent crime rate went up in Milwaukee?

Who was Prime Minister of Canada at the time? What the hell would either have to do with local crime?

The rate was 1,460 in 2022 and 1,508 in 2024. It's been a shitshow under every president, and will continue to be a shitshow until Milwaukee's community decides to change from within, or law enforcement find and incarcerate every criminal in the City.

I personally had a knife pulled on me in a liquor store as I stood in front of a guy that was stealing booze and told him you got to pay for that. He put down his bag and pulled out a knife and stuck it in my face and said move. I moved .

This is lmao on multiple levels. Hard to tell if this is made up bullshit like the rest of your posts.

What is even more laughable is that he cited the incident as an example of an unreported crime in a city with underfunded policing. But the liquor store clerk wasn't the only person who could report a crime. lozen was free to call the cops and say that a guy just stole from a liquor store and pulled a knife on him. Then the crime would have been reported.

Yes but Gavin is comparing the state as a whole to the cities in LA

Like Lucion said many of those re state cities are governed by left wing mayors . Kudos to Gavin though he is fighting Trump at his own game . Im not sure how anyone can think he is not planning on being the 2028 candidate

Because it is state leaders who were criticizing California. And if the crime rate of the entire state, including rural and suburban areas, is higher than in the city of LA, that's even worse for them.

by Trolly McTrollson

Also notice that lozen is the one who escalated the situation. He tried to physically prevent someone from exiting a building and quickly discovered he's not the tough guy he thinks he is.

In the scenario described, the one who 'escalated the situation' beyond civil normality would be the knife-carrying thief. You may be exhibiting US 'liberal' psychosis in assuming the ethnicity of the thief, in a patronising racist manner, and, in the same manner, assuming that anything the thief does must therefore be somehow OK (as long as doesn't happen anywhere near you and yours, which, given US levels of residential segregation, you are reasonably confident that it won't).

Where did anyone even imply anything about the ethnicity of the thief??

been away, did i miss anything?

You might've missed the first school shooting of the 2025-2026 academic year. I saw 2 threads on reddit and one here, but all three were deleted.

Clearly Donald Trump's fault.

A. Who said a thing about race here?

B. When did I say "anything the thief does must therefore be somehow OK?"

C. Please tell me more how racially segregated you imagine my neighborhood is. I need a good laugh.

Yet another glaring example of the need for sensible gun control.

Yet another glaring example of the need for sensible gun control.

But what about their second amendment rights and the need for guns against tyrannical governments?

by Pablito

But what about their second amendment rights and the need for guns against tyrannical governments?

We have shitloads of guns and they don't seem to be effective against our current tyrannical government. Might as well try to protect innocent children.

Only the 286th mass shooting this year, and the second mass casualty event that hospital had to deal with in the last 24 hours.

Just the price you pay to stop corrupt tyrants taking over I guess.

Amen brother.

We've recently discovered that the people who care most about their second amendment rights are the same people who support tyrannicsl governments.

There were three fatal shootings in Minneapolis yesterday, probably none of which were committed by people who are legally allowed to own firearms.

The thing about gun control laws is that they don't actually impact the people who commit most of the gun violence.

The school shooter was batshit crazy and belonged in one of the insane asylums that we shut down 60 years ago. Not sure if she owned that gun legally or not.

The thing about gun control laws is that they’re better than doing literally nothing at all.

We already have them. We do not enforce them.

Adding more laws you won't enforce might make keyboard warriors feel good and declare victory, but won't do jack **** for actual gun violence.

Maybe time to get rid of guns all together? Might be a solution, not sure.

Don't democrats own guns too? Why aren't they out there fighting this tyrannical government?

by Inso0

If this was actually true, you wouldn't bitch and moan about them this much.

Maybe. How would we do that?

by formula72

Maybe. How would we do that?

Will the response to my answer be something like ''but most crimes committed with guns are done with illegal guns'' or even better ''the person owning the gun shouldn't have been able to own one, we need stricter mental health checks''.

I don't know btw.

Mental health checks? Sounds WOKE!

This. What in the world.
