Fall LC Thread: Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing
Going for a round of vaccines today. We old guys aren't taking any chances.

Daughter texts me yesterday to ask if I'm going to granddaughter's dance recital Sunday.
You mean tomorrow?
No.
Next Sunday?
What Sunday?
The one before Thanksgiving.
Couldn't you have just told me the 23rd?
I'm driving, so I couldn't look at the calendar.
Couldn't you have started with the Sunday before Thanksgiving?
Silence.
She should have had my granddaughter call me.

"Next" has a meaning, despite how people use it. The subsequent entry in a series.
Next Monday is tomorrow, the 10th.
Maybe this should go in the "Things that piss you off..." thread.
Tomorrow is this Monday.
My daughter takes after me. I still love her despite that.

Memories of the Brady pool cover thing.
Weird thing I'm worried about: I'm out of coffee and yet too tired to go out into the cold and buy more.
I went to see The Weir with Brendan Gleeson acting in it at the theatre. Normally I'm bored in the theatre, waiting for it to end, but it was engrossing. And all the play is is five people spending the evening in a pub in rural Ireland, talking and telling stories about ghostly occurrences in their lives, and then they go home. Except the final story is about a lost love, which is perhaps the real haunting.
I have no idea why Brendan Gleeson is a good actor, or what makes a good actor in general. It is something I have been meaning to ask.
Don't forget, hire a vet!

This is very much how I feel about acting. And I've also noticed that Gleeson seems to have a knack for it, but that was only in movies. I envy you getting to see him in the flesh.
Beautiful sunny 70 degree day today. Is Indian Summer still a "safe" term or is that verbotten now? Anyway it was nice, a far cry from the 2 inches of snow we had on Monday.
I took advantage by finally covering up all the patio furrniture on the deck and putting up my outside Chritmas lights. Won't plug them in until Thanksgiving but getting them up in nice weather is better than the fridgid cold. So I am ready for winter, can't wait until spring π
Stephen Kingβs recent physical & mental deterioration is pretty sad.
lol he seems fine to me...he's just old.
Yeah, he apparently thought Trump is 50 years old. And whatβs he doing commenting on someoneβs looks like an 8th grader anyway (nvm the pot kettle/glass houses aspect)?
He looked very thin & wobbly in a Long Walk promo someone posted in the replies, but he obviously couldβve been playing that up.
But OMHB has certainly embedded in his cortex and I have no idea why anyone in his position would allow that to happen.
I don't think he even carries a smartphone. 100% he's not the one writing those tweets.
I went on a tour of the Albert Hall today. There wasn't much on it you couldn't see if you were to go anyway, other than an ante-room the Royals use when they visit. They got Peter Blake to do a Sgt. Pepper-style piece of people who've played there, which is anyone who is anyone; even Muhammad Ali has fought there; and there were some cool photos on the walls. My favourite was one of Liza, Frank and Sammy in 1989. This wasn't it, but similar:

I thought one of Hitler's testicles was there?
See, they didn't take us in the basement. And I wanted to see Bob Dylan's dressing room.
nothing the rest of us find more enjoyable than slap fighting over recency bias toward wikipage editing
Sad, but not as sad as the βofferβ the corporation made to the city to save it.
