Do you really believe that or are you just bored and typing BS?

Legitimately interested

So, to answer your question directly, no, I don't believe that is what has happened, I was being sarcastic. But, at the same time, I'm open to the hopefully exceedingly remote possibility that shenanigans are afoot.

So, for the "race was good" snobs out there, was today's race good?

Good race

Hanlon’s Razor comes to mind. Always better to assume incompetence than malice or a conspiracy

Penalty was harsh IMO on Oscar. Both drivers on the inside were going super late on the brakes for the first corner and he was sufficiently up the inside before he locked his brakes - racing incident IMO as any driver would go for that gap.

Agree but he did keep 2nd ahead of Kimi after incident (Right? I watched only highlights), maybe should have given the position back and it would be all good.

What are the odds that some random mechanic with access to Max's car was paid off by McLaren to eff it up by 0.1MM? Certainly not zero. I'd like think it is as close to 0 as mathematically possible, but that might be me being overly optimistic.

Now that would be a juicy scandal.
I think it is more likely that McLaren have decided to f up the car of Oscar, because boy, has he fallen off a cliff.

What are your thoughts on the Audi R26 Concept?

It’s either that or it’s indicative of quite how thin the margins are at this level and how important psychology is. Most obvious answer to me is that somehow/somewhere Oscar’s lost his mental edge and that’s made what seems like a huge difference to his performance.

I mean…we know the margins are thin - we see a .15 second difference on a 90 second qualifying lap and think that it’s a convincing win. So when Oscar loses .4 of a second per lap in qualifying over 6 weeks, it is actually a substantial loss

Heaps better than current green colour

Yes this is what I suspect too - can't let their golden boy Norris lose the title and since Oscar complained about team treatment they have literally just put him in the naughty room as the bad son. Oscar will be gone after next year

the idea mclaren would do anything to slow down piastri is absurd. they were not sabotaging the championship leader with max still in the running

Well the argument goes it is easier for them to focus on one driver than 2 drivers to beat Max because you don't want your drivers taking points of each other - it is the methodology that has really seen Max dominate the driver's championship because he hasn't had a quality teammate to take points off him.

It is the methodology that has really seen Max dominate the driver's championship because he hasn't had a quality teammate to take points off him.

Not having the same qualities as Max doesn't mean that his team mates didn't have quality.

Alex Albon has almost twice the number as many points as Carlos Sainz and Carlos was pretty close to Charles' level, much closer than Lewis.

I'd say Alex is a quality driver. But he and all others paled to Max and all succumbed to the increasing amount of stress and ridicule that comes with being second seat to Max.

Maybe you say: they have trouble adapting to the car. Well, we all have seen how Max did when he stepped into the RB for the first time in 2016.

It is the exceptionality of Max that makes his teammates look bad.

Ferrari! Time and time again it seems it’s run by a bunch of DumbDumb’s. Lewis better demand a change of engineer for next year.

All teams make mistakes, but Ferrari is constant.

Lando getting it done nowadays.
Not choking like in the past during big moments.

Whatever is left of the competitor in Lewis must be seething seeing the potential in the Mercedes car this year.

F1 academy race was full of action last night. It would be cool if one of these drivers made it all the way to F1 some day.

c'mon.

I've supported and loved Lewis for his entire F1 career but let's be honest about the fact that he has slipped substantially and is letting down Ferrari at least as much as they aren't producing consistently for their drivers

he has half the points of his teammate and has lost the consistency AND the sharp edge of his speed that were his trademarks.

it's over for Lewis as a top F1 driver. sure he has another few years on his contract, but he isn't fast or good enough to be a contender for the Championship and while it's conceivable that he might be able to win another GP, at this stage I would think that is a long shot and would require a lot of variance

Lewis is absolutely washed. No doubt about that. However his engineer just isn’t sharp. Ferrari is a top team, need sharper guys. GP or Bono just consistently provide Alpha during races. Can’t say the same for Ferrari engineers.

It appears McLaren are under investigation and potentially a double DSQ incoming

I'm sure people are going to say it was a fun race due to sub-plots but how many races in a row are we going to have where P1 is a total non-fight

If you never have a race for the win, your product can't be that good

Disqualification confirmed.

LOL

Lando 24 points ahead of Max and Oscar, who are now level.

Soccer is the biggest sports in the world and many games end in 0-0.

I feel for Oscar. Something goes wrong every race. His confidence must be hurting.
