Dom and John, that's great that you're taking extra time with your students to try to support them in life as well as in class.

Patriots penalized themselves into a loss, but the Bills, I think, may still be the better team.

Done with pet sitting for my friend who has been in the hospital since Tuesday. At least I think I'm done. He should be home tonight barring further complications.

Going to Hanukkah dinner tonight. I'm looking for a punchline for a Jew, a Catholic, and an atheist sit down for a Hanukkah dinner . . .

There might not be one.

The best I can do is what's the favourite hymn of a half-Jew half-Catholic? Oy Vey Maria.

A jew, a catholic and an atheist sit down for a Hannukah dinner.

They all have a great time, because they aren't a-holes.

Actually, I think you might've written your own.

You know how when you're trying to think of a name and when you stop thinking about it, the name comes to you.

The other night somebody mentioned the movie Barefoot in the Park and asked if I remembered the name of a woman named Mildred.

I could picture her but couldn't come up with the last name. Then I saw a picture of Margaret Rutherford. Suddenly, the name came to me: Mildred Natwick.

I have no idea how Margaret Rutherford triggered Mildred Natwick.

Just finished correcting a number of exams and papers. Sometimes I'm surprised that I actually taught students something.

If I'm ever over there in season, I bet it would be really interesting to audit one of your classes.

Saxophonist Bobby Keys would’ve turned 82 today. I stumbled across this last night, any horn players might be interested.

This is my favorite photo of a famous person.

If had any sort of classroom or kids/grandkids rooms, i’d hang this version up in it.

and to tie the past couple of days together into a coincidental bow,
Keys played with Ely on Lord of the Highway in 1987

RIP to you both

My students did a research paper on happiness among generations from Gen Alpha to Baby Boomers and tried to predict which generation would be most and least happy. I had them go out and poll people to find out if their predictions were accurate.

Most happy were Boomers and Alphas. Least were Gen Z. Surprised to find out that about 50% said their happiness has increased in the last five years. Also had them rank what was most important to their happiness. Overwhelmingly, family was first followed by friends.

I was surprised how much relationship/love differed among the generations. It was high on the list for Millennials but further down for Gen X and Boomers.

Perhaps because we polled mostly people in RI, where people lived was the least important of ten choices.

I'll admit to being ignorant. What the hell is gen alpha? I never hears of that one?

Different times of life. Boomers and most Gen X either had kids already or are too old. Obviously, that's a pretty big part of romantic relationships.

For older people, if you are happily married then that's awesome and it is probably something you rank highly. Others are stuck in bad marriages, divorced, never got married etc. If you're 33, you're more likely to either be newly married, or hope to find a great partner and possibly start a family, so it will be more important. Though, I looked it up and Millennials can be as old as 44, so the older ones are starting to make the transition to middle age.

Gen Alpha, which I didn't know either, is kids under 16.

Okay, I asked AI what gen alpha is? Its kids born 2010 to present. Everybody is happy as a kid! No bills, no worries and the future is bright! Until it aint. They will learn how to be disgruntled šŸ˜€

I miss Wrong Forum Man, as well as Suburban Poker Man. Red is known for putting music videos everywhere, and its always the right forum. It says so on his poetic license.

Yeah, it's like there's a subconscious librarian who'll go and look stuff up for you, but is unsure how long it will take.
