Hotel Review Thread
Since there are so many questions about hotels, I was thinking it would be useful for people to post the hotels they hav
Bellagio Room Review:We took our mid 20's kid and her boyfriend to Vegas for their first time last weekend and tried the Bellagio for the first time so they could see the fountains from their room and be close to other Casinos. When it's just the wife and myself we usually stay at The Wynn, but we did try The Waldorf last year during March Madness. I use to stay at Aria a lot
In my personal experience, the rooms at Bellagio have been consistently better than at any other MGM property I stay at (Cosmo, Vdara, Aria). Of course, nothing is going to compare to the Wynn.
Strong disagree. I vastly prefer vdara over bellagio rooms. I'd place aria over bellagio as well. Never stayed at cosmo.
Bellagio rooms are all showing their age
There may still be some inconsistency across their rooms, despite the renovations. The last couple times I've stayed there the rooms were furnished approximately like the one in this video, including the lighter tiling in the bathroom: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkDxjE6o.... I haven't seen the darker marble in OP's photos in quite some time, but I think it's older and more prone to both appear--and actually be--dirty.
And maybe there's inconsistency with the other furnishings, but in my experience everything at Bellagio has been in very good shape, whereas the Vdara floors and furniture have been visibly worn. I really like Vdara because it's typically cheaper than Aria/Cosmo/Bellagio but still very well located, but it is badly in need of a refresh. Same with Cosmo -- which thankfully is getting a renovation next year (after Aria gets one this year).
Renovation timing is probably what's going on between all these properties
Any poker in Laughlin? Where's the best place?
I got a free room offer.
They have poker at Harrahβs Laughlin Thursday- Sun from memory.
Biggest game 2-5.
I stayed there too, the room was fine a bit dated and nothing fancy but it was convenient.
Never stayed at the trop in Laughlin but the rooms look really basic, i would recommend the Harrahs if its gotta be a Caesars property but take my word with a grain of salt.
Laughlin is not Vegas by any means so definitely expect a few tiers lower in terms of luxury compared to the strip

Thanks. I forgot this is a junket-type trip offer, so I won't have my car and will likely stay where their shuttle drops me off. If I go.
super impressed with cromwell such a unique property.
the new (?) Versailles tower in Paris also really nice.

no coffee maker though.
It must be intentional to encourage paying for coffee because seems like a no brainer to at least have a keurig (they donβt have to supply the coffee pods).
100% intentional. Not only do they want you buying coffee but more likely to buy food and spend gambol $$
The thing Iβve heard about Cromwell is how noisy it is - both from the road and from Draiβs. You didnβt find it too noisy?
no not at all i could hear a pin drop in my room right now! although often time i sleep when the streets dead (4am in Vegas on a Tuesday right now) but caesers properties usually assign me the top floor or one of them which help drowns out the noise from my understanding. At the linq that was floor 19-20 at the tower i was in at cromwell itβs 7 right now.

I know that you weren't asking me, but I didn't find it that noisy. We did ask for a room away from the club, but it was pretty much in the center of the hotel and only one floor down. The rooms are a little dark, but I liked them. The one downside is that they are usually more expensive than almost any other CET property outside of Caesars. Great location as long as you want to walk a bit for dining/poker.
I'd sooner pay $5 for coffee at a Vegas coffee shop than drink Keurig coffee, but definitely agree an in-room coffee maker is a missing convenience that you would expect in basically any hotel room anywhere.
Almost want to bring my own when I stay in those rooms but I tripped the breaker making coffee in my room one time while grinding lol (no wonder it belongs in the kitchen [emoji1787]) and now im unreasonably worried about the possibility of starting a fire or something .
You should go back to bringing a grinder. Add a kettle and try out an aeropress. Really great coffee, doesn't take up too much space when moving around, and far superior to a keurig or anything you'll get in the casino. As far as the breaker tripping, I was on the road for many years with a grinder and electric kettle and never once tripped a breaker, so your experience is the exception, not the rule. Let me know when you're set up and I'll send you some coffee I've roasted right here at home!

I've never stayed there, but the word is the walls are very thin. It was a lower end hotel when built.
There was a big brouhaha 15 or 20 years ago where the Health Dept (I think) in LV was going to require coffee pots in rooms to be washed in the restaurant's dishwashers or somewhere other than the sink in the room. IIRC several LV hotels removed coffeemakers at that time. I think that policy (or threat of policy) might have been rescinded, but some hotels didn't replace them.

Interesting - and you were there on days/nights that the club was going?
Iβve always liked the look of the rooms online albeit I donβt think they have desks and I always need to stay in touch with my business when overseas

Stayed there just before the 4th of July. The club was going. We did go to the pool during the day and it was surprisingly quiet, but maybe everyone else was up late?
Not sure they have desks, but they did have a vanity. That probably doesn't count.

you have a lot of experience with this do you have any other travel trips that might be applicable to stays on the strip from a more poker oriented lens (as opposed to vacation)? I know there is a wealth of information in the sub forum regarding this topic but itβs either outdated or disorganized (totally understand and respect that no one cba to do this).

I can probably stop posting here if poker is the criteria.
no no please donβt! Mark is someone I consider to be a friend and I just meant unique to vegasmessage board or reddit or something
also since I highlighted the no coffee maker in Paris in the the new tower I just wanted to note that in the diamond and seven stars check in room (I understand not everyone can take advantage of this) they serve quality champagane and you can take a couple glasses and that more than makes up for it for me!
also when my keys inevitably deactivate or I need to visit the front desk can indulge in a couple more rounds π
