Trump Economy and Poker
About six years ago I put up a post pointing out that the good Trump economy was probably very good for the poker games
Are k-shaped economies good for poker? Who’s going to deal the games for those on the “good” side of Trump’s k-shaped disaster when people can’t afford to buy gas to get to work?
You’re a self-serving *******. If you weren’t, you’d have distanced yourself from Sklansky 20 years ago after he helped Brandi kill herself. But you didn’t. You had to hang on to your golden ticket.
That fact says everything about the kind of man you are, and more importantly it makes it very clear the kind of man you are not.
Gentle reminder that the stock market isn't the economy
Most people don't even own stocks
Yes, they do. The percentage has been over 60 for a while now.

Dig a little deeper and we see the reality. Our wealth is being funneled to the top.

While more than half of U.S. adults own stock, most don't own much. The wealthiest 1% hold 50% of stocks, worth $29 trillion, as of the fourth quarter of 2025, according to the Federal Reserve.
If you expand to the top 10%, that group holds 87% of the stocks, valued at $44 trillion.
In comparison, the rest of the country has seen stock ownership dwindle. The bottom 50% of Americans by net worth own only 1% of stocks, which is worth roughly $620 billion.

Obviously you have no understanding of how contracts work.
Also, my understanding of Brandi, and I never met her or spoke to her, is that she was someone suffering from severe depression. You can take it from there.
And one final point. If our authors would have thought like you do, they would have gone to different publishers and made a lot less. Does that mean that they are all "self-serving *****?"
And just so you know, in the past year I've heard from several potential authors who are interested in working with us. I turn most of these down, but I did agree to look at a new book as soon as the author gets it to me.
What exactly is the relevance of the SP 500 to the subject of this thread? Numerous all time highs in stocks were set while Obama or Biden was president, but presumably these were not relevant to any supposed improvement to the "poker economy" whatever that phrase even means.

Presumably, a high S&P correlates with a good economy which correlates with disposable income which correlates with more poker being played.
S&P at an all time high and oil prices plunging. Obviously this will be terrible for the poker economy because I’m not sure why. I’m just angry because I hate Trump and also because Mason turned down my book proposal back in 2009.

Actually, we never got that book proposal. But if we had gotten it, I sure hope I would have turned it down.

This has absolutely nothing to do with why what Sklansky did was ****ed up
Do people really not understand the problem here? It kind of goes hand in hand with you being a right wing nut job, callously indifferent to the plight of others...
DS, ****ing ******* that he was, encouraged someone (who was in a vulnerable state, mind you) to kill herself. He also threatened to pay some goons he apparently knows to throw acid on her face. That's the egregious piece of **** you were in business with
Guy was informed she passed and his response was, "Good."
Do you really not understand how grotesque a mindset that is? Brandi was a very intelligent, multi-talented, beautiful individual. Reduced to "some crazy bitch" by god knows how many incel dickheads here on 2+2. Even worse, thinking in a manner that the treatment of her was justified because of her own, deeply rooted, personal issues...This is NOT how you treat human beings regardless of any of that, status, or perceived economic value to the Mango Messiah's economy...
This thread is kind of dumb because online poker isn't really tied to any POTUS' economy. By that logic, the best time for online poker was Obama (2008-2012, but it's really just post-UIGEA, pre-Black Friday Full Tilt and PokerStars) and Bush II (PartyPoker until some right wing ******* wanted to run for President and surreptitiously inserted UIGEA into a bill certain to pass, all to appease a religious conservative voting bloc)
Poker right now in general is ****ing terrible lol and I say that as someone who put in enough volume to make significant yearly profit for about 5 years running. The legal sites in the US are a joke and all the offshore sites feel like they're run by greedy pieces of **** who really just want to funnel everyone to a slot or sports bet. And if neither of those are available, then the rake is high af (GG Poker comes to mind)
At least that's my view from online poker perspective. Someone else can counterbalance that with the live scene, as I only play live sporadically
David did a lot of stupid things.

This is garbage. It's always been a priority with me to treat people well. As an example, this had a lot to do with Two Plus Two paying royalty rates far higher than our competition, and in general. our authors made at least five times what they would have made with our main competitor.

David did some stupid things. I bet you have too. This post of yours is a good example.

Again, I didn't know her and had nothing to do with her. But based on what I understand, she was someone with a lot of problems and probably getting into poker was not the right path for her.

Actually, I think you're kind of dumb and are obviously unable to deal with anyone who thinks differently from you.

Okay.

David Sklansky attempted to manipulate an emotionally unwell woman into suicide and may have succeeded. He may or may not have solicited sexual favors from that same woman
You made a post Mason Malmuth thinks is stupid
EVERYONE DOES STUPID THINGS!
There’s something seriously wrong with you, former boss of the site

The fact that you redirect this back to something about money speaks volumes, and only reinforces what I said
In your mind you think you treat people well, but in reality, you're oblivious as to what I'm speaking on
Again, I didn't know her and had nothing to do with her. But based on what I understand, she was someone with a lot of problems and probably getting into poker was not the right path for her.
Sounds like you're quite the narcissist like Sklansky was. Again, you're oblivious to the point
You're borderline victim blaming here, as you did in your last post with a similar comment
Actually, I think you're kind of dumb and are obviously unable to deal with anyone who thinks differently from you
Oh dear god. Is this where I'm supposed to retort with my IQ level or something? Lol...Dealing with people who think differently than me and eviscerating someone for woefully ignorant (or deliberately obtuse?) modes of thought are two different things...
Also, my understanding of Brandi, and I never met her or spoke to her, is that she was someone suffering from severe depression. You can take it from there.
Telling a friend that is suffering from depression to kill themselves is mitigated because they are suffering from depression? I suspect most people have the opposite moral intuition, but I guess you can die on this hill.
Now that mason is shitposting again dunking on ppl cuz stonks go weeeeeeeee itβs probably important to revisit his central thesis in his OP
About six years ago I put up a post pointing out that the good Trump economy was probably very good for the poker games since it would create more excess income for many people which we would see in the poker games. Unfortunately, Covid came and, of course, I got attacked by some people for saying something positive about Trump.Anyway, I expect something similar to happen again
We are now, in my opinion, about 15 months into trumpβs presidency. Prices are higher on literally everything across the board, economic anxiety is actual, Vegas is getting lower traffic and they are closing poker rooms
Do you think poker has boomed at this point? And if not, do you think in the next 3 months a boom is coming? And if not, in your opinion, about how many more months will it take?
