The Democratic Party's Slide Into Irrelevance
Attaching a poll ... Dems unfavorability rating increased from 45% to 57% during the Biden Administration.
Let me ask you a question - do you think there are consistent left wingers on here that fly off the handle if you post anything that isn't completely 100% anti Trump?
Of course.
Do you think there are ANY conservative views you would see as valid?
Validity is a weird criteria. I don't know what it would mean for a political view to be valid or invalid. There are many progressive policies with which I disagree (and many with which I agree). Are there traditional conservative political views with which I agree? I am sympathetic to traditional conservative concerns about the long term impact of excessive deficit spending, but it has been a long time since the Republican party really cared about fiscal responsibility. Trump certainly doesn't. I am sympathetic to a more traditional education curriculum. (I'm not talking about stupid conservative concerns about books that depict gay characters, etc. I'm talking more about reading the classics and learning the basics of history.) I was not on team "shut down the world forever" because of COVID, although I obviously appreciated the reasons for the initial shutdown.

Rococo gets flack from Lefties here all the time when he doesn't toe-the-line.
Oh well in that case, it's totally okay for conservatives to abandon their values.
Spoiler
DUCY whataboutism is pointless?
Trump was convicted of dozens of crimes, but those who voted for him didnβt side with a criminal. Right.
Youβre beyond help or hope. A special kind of stupid you are.
Yes they may have abandoned their values but so has the left. Take the border Obama and Hilary had the same position as Trump
. You of all people with how single-mindedly obsessed about mathusian visions of resource scarcity should realize the danger of a climate denying authoritarian like Trump.
The US rose to the position of world's greatest fossil fuel producer under Obama.
The Paris Accord delivered under Obama was pure theater with no jurisdiction or commitments just as Kyoto was pure theater under Clinton-Gore.
Yes ... Trump is a denier ..... but practically speaking, both parties have near identical policy.
Obama is all image, no substance.
Again, you are incorrect. Trumpβs broken personality and sociopathic inclinations make him orders of magnitude worse than any major party nominee for POTUS in US history. The fact he still hasnβt conceded 2020 and incited a riot on J6 is frankly all anyone should need to know to recognize Trump should not be allowed anywhere near the WhiteHousePiss poor judgment. Piss ****ing
The Jan 6 riot was targeted at an institution (Congress) with an 18% favorability rating among the US public.
When the public is denied a democratic (small d) option to legislation that will help them, violence s/b expected. I don't endorse violence, but I'm not naive enough to believe that people are going to roll over and die en masse.
Certainly didn't predict Nut Nut's shift from new world order fan fiction to bothsides.gif posting. Either way, it's sure to be boring as ****.
We have 2 extinction parties to choose from in the US.
You can toss out insults but you can't debate the substance.

The both sidsers fail to take into account that the republicans fight tooth and nail to stop any and every policy that the democrats attempt to install. If things like universal healthcare and strong environmental laws don't happen, it ain't because the democrats aren't trying.

Kamala Harris did not believe in Universal Healthcare and lets not forget Gavin Newsom that ran on a Universal Health Care program but once elected and had the majority to pass it abandoned it after a few dinners and a wad of cash from the Healthcare lobbyists .
The Dems could pass universal healthcare by just eliminating the filibuster
This is an issue unto itself. I honestly don't understand all of the implications, but neither party seems to want to do it.
Ask yourself the following question: What would the combination of this Congress and this administration have done in the absence of the filibuster? The answer to that question will explain why both parties are reluctant to eliminate the flibuster.
