Daniel Negreanu's very own containment thread. All things Danny go here
how bad must he be when a girl falls asleep while making out and snores right after?
life fish..... food arrived but didn
Easy to get lucky with only 83 players. Plus it is a really soft field. Just like the ppc.
Imagine being a haterfor some dude whos the luckiest poker player in history. It’s baffling to me. Having very little going in your life and needing to constantly ripping down someone else to make themselves feel better about their own shitty life is my only possible explanation for this behavior by certain people on here.
Fyp. Imagine spending so much time in a thread for someone you hate.
He is giving the finger to all you trash talkers, like he did when he won the ppc.
Now a trash talker has run out of arguments and resirted to obscene anslogies about oral sex.
The argument of him still being in the red in the last 5 years just flew over your pea brain or do you evaluate player's skills based on a sample of one 80-man PLO tournament? (I would not be surprised).
It was never about “my boy” DN, although I’m someone who recognizes that he is one of few people walking around these days that are good for poker
I only post a few weeks during the year (ScotchWeek) but I like to take on toxic negative “chit reg” posters while I’m here.
But this was great yesterday. Per our previous discussions he was never negative but he’s 2.3M more in black today Stay down, Corky!

You're cherrypicking, if you don't consider DN's results for 2026, and aggregate results for time periods longer than 5 years.
Independent of his money ledger, it remains an impressive accomplishment for DN to have scored recent bracelet wins in the PPC and the $100K PLO Super High Roller.
From this a few days ago
The evidence of him losing for the past 10 years are his own published results for the past 10 years. Are you people illiterate?

Man the nuthuggers need to chill out and wipe the goo off their chins, it is not like he is now winning money from poker over the last 5 years.
Congrats to the bracelet DNegs.

Cracking me up!

He is playing every high roller in the WSOP trying to win bracelets or get good final table finishes. I agree on that. Not everyone has the backing and assets to do that. Also, this builds his brand and his ego, and other players are playing cash or whatever to make money. I said before that he isn't a dominant tournament player like 20 years ago.
Has it occurred to you that you need to be pretty good player to play all those high rollers and even break even? Has it occurred to you that you need to be a sort of decent player to win 80 or so men high buyin tournaments? Maybe the fields aren't as soft as you think they are. If it is so easy to do, how come no one else has won both the highest buyin mixed game and PLO event?
He is obviously way in the black for this WSOP. How come no more comments about PLO being his jam?
I thoughr this would shut up the trash talkers, but i was so wrong. He just got lucky and won 2 small field sit and gos, the 50k mixed and the 100k plo. You realize that aside from the experts itt this will look like a huge accomplishment. Has anyone else won the highest stake plo and the highest stake mixed, much less 2 years apart. No more discussion about how he is a losing p
I mean it's nice for him that this year he won and bracelet AND he'll also be up for the summer.
Id still fade his action over the next 5 years at wsop if I could.
The picture of him and his gold digging Botox wife giving the middle finger is hilarious.
lol everyone got their marching orders to use past five years for some reason, apes united

DNegs might actually have an edge in these tournaments, but thats because in these 25k+ to
objectively you are such a loser

Has it occurred to you that mtt variance is insane and you can’t get enough volume in at 50k+ buy ins to ever reach a confidence interval that’s worth anything? Say a high roller reg with a 10% roi puts in 500 buy ins for example. Will still be LOSING 28% of the time. Amazing how results oriented everyone is in 2026

I am aware of the variance. That also goes for people saying he is down in the last whatever. It is obvious he is playing all the high rollers, trying for bracelets, final tables, etc. He may be a dog in NLHE high rollers, but he has a chance to win. The fields in these 100 player or so tournaments are very tough. It would be hard to win them if you are way -EV. No one else has won WSOP $50K+ events in both mixed games and PLO. So maybe he got lucky and got lucky back when he made all those final tables on TV. Maybe he is just a fish on a 30 year heater.

Playing the highest buy ins are obviously good for his brand win or lose. Impossible to gauge his roi in these buy ins but I can’t imagine it’s higher than 10%. Everyone in the field plays reasonably well enough to be between ~0.3%-3% to win a 100 man high roller per bullet. Is Daniel the 0.3% fish luckbox? The 3% shark? Or somewhere in between? Impossible to know who’s who in the zoo unless these same guys play a live 100k plo everyday for next 10 years. Which won’t happen obv. I thought the plo coinpoker championship was interesting and the closest thing we have to a large sample open competition. Says a lot that none of these guys play these 100k mtts when they’re actually the best plo players
Unless that shooting bird's pic is a new one, that is from a few years ago.

I don't disagree that it is possible that his long term ROI in PLO and mixed game high rollers would only be slightly positive and his long term ROI in NLHE high rollers might be negative. I agree it makes better videos etc. if he plays them and makes him look like more of a star if he wins them.
I am sure there are a lot of professional players who would not be able to anywhere near break even at high rollers. Just breaking even at them, not to say that is what he is doing, is an accomplishment.
However, he has be good enough in a tournament format both in 9 games for the PPC and PLO to get the result no one else has. I don't know if he is still a superstar, but he isn't a losing player.
