MuckPls vs Vegas - 04/12-04/29
Guess who’s back, back again!
Figured I’d get the ball rolling as it’s less than 3 weeks for my next trip. Like the last
They changed from MLife to MGM Rewards in early 2022 I believe. I still have an older MLife credit card synced to my MGM account and receive the points from purchases.
I can handle the time, for one day at least. I did 15 hours at Caesars just to see if I could earn 500 tier credits in one day and get a bonus. Sitting for long hours I can probably handle, my concern is more whether I would run out of money before I got the 70 hours.
I don't know. Mlife may be defunct, the MGM website showed "MGM Rewards" on it's website, just like CET, lol.
yeah if you went to an MGM with your card they would probably say hey let me replace your card with the new program, but your points would probably reset to the lowest if you haven't used it in a while.
I also don't know how Muck does it, lately I've struggled to have long sessions. feels like I need to either quit while I'm ahead or end up busting.

It’s a combination of two things:
1, poker where I live is the absolute worst you can imagine. It’s basically 7-8 miserable shitregs/pros in their 20-30s. You sit down to play Friday night and everyone is wearing hoodies and headphones, no drinking, no talking and definitely no straddling. In Vegas it’s always some crazy **** going on, people talking and having a good time etc
2, VEGAS! The atmosphere and the possibility of being able to play in Vegas for me is so amazing. I am literally like Antonio Esfandiari was at High stakes poker, sitting there smiling all day and saying how much I love USA/Vegas.
I wish I could play even longer but I have to realise I am getting old and it’s getting painful. I remember a few trips ago, maybe 2 years ago? Me and my friend were playing at an insane game at Cesars Palace and we ended up playing for almost 24 hours. Only after leaving the table did I feel how incredibly exhausted I was.

Oddly enough I played at Bellagio on Saturday and they swiped my Mlife card, and the dealer never mentioned anything about it. But the Bellagio poker room is in such disarray, that doesn't mean much.
The name of the card might change, but the member # is probably the same. Every one of my local Indian casinos has updated their Frequent Gambler Club card name over the last 5 years, but all my old cards still work just fine and are associated with my name/number. Same with my Harrah's/WSOP /Caesar's/Total Rewards cards.

Right, but I doubt I'm actually Gold in the new program. I matched from CET Diamond, and I thought the life of those matches was very short, like a few months. The only play I've given them since was 2 hours at poker.
Subbing. Run good!
One more week to go! Getting super excited for the trip.
Looking forward to it
72 hours to go until Vegas! A couple of stuff before my next post from Vegas (hopefully):
I’ll be flying out 7 am from Malta to London Heathrow where I’ll have 6 hours of layover. Will be brutal but whatever. Then direct flight to Vegas and landing at 6:30 pm Vegas time.
Staying at the following places
April 12-16: Paris
April 16-21: Park MGM
April 21-24: Paris
April 24-27: Park MGM
It’ll be a lot of moving around but it’s okay at least I maximise on comps as much as possible and stay almost free.
As mentioned this will be a work trip so we will see how much time I’ll have to play. I also have a couple of smaller trips planned like the below:
Half-Day Emerald Cove Kayak Tour with Hotel Pickup
We also have a reservation at Bazaar meat for the 19th, will be amazing.
Thanks for following and I’ll update next from Lost Wages!
15 days….Gruelling!
I don’t fly very often, so my 4.5ish hour flight to Vegas always seems really long.
I can’t IMAGINE how long those flights must be from Malta!
Safe travels!

It’s manageable, especially on the way back if it’s a late flight. On the way there I have 3 hours to London, then a 6 hour layover which in theory is only like 4 because I have to collect my bags, leave the terminal and go over to Terminal 3 etc. Good thing is that I’ll buy lounge access which can be used 3 hours before departure, some nice food and a shower. Then it’s 10 hours to Vegas which is long but you get food twice, watch a couple of movies or series on the tablet, take a nap and BOOM Vegas!
On the way home it’s much better as the plane leaves 11 pm Vegas time, usually super exhausted by then so just sleep all the way home.
Regarding Bazaar, don’t miss the Foie gras cotton candy appetizer.
Something that's worked pretty well for me on long-hauls: I'll get some OTC sleeping tablets or cold capsules (like NyQuil here in USA#n). When the first food service comes around, pop one of them with a beer.
Headphones and eyemask on, off to sleep. Don't sleep great of course, but at least no exhausted when I get to destination.

Same almost, except I have some pretty serious neck problems. I usually take a painkiller just after lunch service and like that I can manage to sleep. I remember when I first flew to Vegas, our flight was to SFO with BigWhale and I didn’t think about packing meds and 3-4 hours later begged the flight attendants to give me something, ANYTHING or I’ll jump out the window [emoji23]

I do the same, but use THC edibles. Looks like cannibas is legal in Malta? Might be a good option.
Looking forward to another great TR!

in a weird way (but not in all ways), the longer flights are easier to relax into.
Like Muck I always get daytime flights to Vegas and then nighttime flights home. It’s 13.5 hrs Sydney to LAX or SF, leaving at 9.30 am and I can generally look forward to it as an opportunity to do some work, watch some movies, read a book etc. On the long ones, you don’t have any option but to relax into the flight
It helps that international seats, even in coach, are generally larger and have more leg space than the smaller planes you do internal flights on. So it isn’t as uncomfortable. I would also dislike 4 hours on those tiny South West seats
Sydney to London is a different beast. Having a 12 and an 8 hour flight only broken by a 2 -3 hr stopover is really difficult and I generally pay for business class on those trips if they are work related so I can sleep and get rested. And then…24 hours in business class is something I really look forward to and can eat and drink myself silly!

Can you get an intarweb connection? I have so many interests that I'm continually behind on stuff I want to study/watch/read. I need 28 hour days. A long flight like that could help me catch up on things.
But I don't want to fly to Malta.

Heh, I've been there so many times, and ran into a problem here and there, that I carry darn near a pharmacy when I go.
Example: I was staying at the Rio, close to 30 floors up, and a mosquito got into my room. He sure didn't fly up 30 floors, so I guess he rode in the elevator? I woke up about 3 a.m., tired as hell, and in actual pain. I had 6 or 7 bites on my hand and my fingers were swollen like they were inflated. Since I don't live in Vegas, apparently I'm somewhat allergic to Vegas skeeters. Long story short, I felt like crap and couldn't get anyone in room service to bring me some Benadryl. Now I carry some with me, just in case. I have 5 or 6 other similar stories involving various other ailments.
