MuckPls vs Vegas - 04/12-04/29
Guess who’s back, back again!
Figured I’d get the ball rolling as it’s less than 3 weeks for my next trip. Like the last
When in doubt, just use the video poker hand analyzer from wizard of odds.
Yeah, but the instant feedback seems better.
Great TR so far, Muck. Regular updates, plenty of pics (including chip porn), and this:
I usually wake up between 1 and 3 at night and head straight down there to catch the drunk scene.
what I love most about Muck's trip reports is that he doesn't seem to care at all about what the time of day is or attempt to transition from Euro to US time.
Sleeps when tired, gets on with eating, drinking and gambling at all other times. It's extremely aspirational.
😀
Some random pictures walking around Aria:
Currently in a 1/3 game stuck $300:
Plan is to play until 10 am (or until I’m bust or something like that) and then check out of Paris and check into Park MGM. Not sure about plans after that, will see. Also on the weirdest sleep schedule, woke up at midnight today.
Thanks for bumping that quote - I really mean it
I’m reading this, along with the recently uploaded new hall of fame tr from 2022 thinking about how I can make it over there in June/July
Going over for this kind of trip would be a nice thing for me and I’m sorely tempted
I really do appreciate it, trying to update as frequently as possible and as detailed as possible but feel like I fail at that sometimes just because there are so many things happening haha
Thread is delivering as always. Everything in Vegas goes 100 miles a hour so do not worry about missing anything out 😆
Left Aria down $800 after a couple of small losses and then the following hand played out:
On the straddle for $6. We are playing 5 handed. Middle position makes it $20, sb calls and I look down at the best hand ever created: AA. Raise to $75, which only original raiser calls. Flop is K high, something like K72r maybe? I lead for 140, he calls. Turn is a brick, 3 maybe? I put him allin for his last $250 or so which he calls. He shows KJo, and someone says they folded a king. River is the one outer king and I throw up in my mouth while walking to the cage to cash in my last $160 or so.
You all know where this is going right? Right. Take $500 to a very lively $50 3/2 game at Aria, and after some ups and downs (mainly ups) the shoe turns super hot and again the day is saved:
Celebrated with the best breakfast I have ever had in Vegas so far, chilaquiles at Aria:
10/10, best food so far this trip.
Then went over to Park MGM to see if I could get lucky once again and yes, my room is ready at 7 am! Absolutely amazing!
This means that my free play is active too, turned it into:
$80 profit, horrible payback really but free money is free!
Now I’m all checked out at Paris and in the new room already:
Will update with plans later on, I’m not entirely sure what to do with the day (besides work of course). I don’t really feel the motivation to grind 1/3.
Stats so far, it’s a bit blurry but approximate:
Poker: +$87
Gambling: +$5700

Finally a hand history that I can criticize 😀
First off, I think the 3-bet should be way bigger than $75. It seems your opponent started with a bit less than $500 ($450-$460?), but you can probably make it $100 here and get the same amount of calls.
Flop-sizing of $140 into $175 on (K-7-2 rainbow) also seems way too big. At this rate you might even get him to fold out hands like JJ and QQ, and really only get calls from Kx and 77. I will assume the opponent has a fairly normal pre-flop range, which means no 2 pair available with K7s or similar.
I would prefer a sizing of around $80 on flop, to keep all pairs lower than K in, plus a seven in case he has 76s or similar. That said, might also go slightly bigger to make the turn-jam a bit smaller and thus easier for opponent to call.
Obviously unlucky AF with the runout, but such is life sometimes when we choose to sit down at a poker table.
Give up poker and work,
Become Blackjack pro, obv

I need to find a book to learn how to bet blackjack. Or hire you to tutor me.
What do you get when you spin the wheel?
Running up more BJ on the freebet table is crazier. That game is a mind ****.
It’s a push when dealer hits 22
Wild run of luck.
If you pay the $5 spin bet, the dealer has to be dealt a 10/6 or 6/10
Then a wheel spins and has to land on your seat number.
If you land that, then you get to spin a wheel for a nominal cash prize.

It’s some stupid side bet that if the dealer has 26 you spin the wheel and you can win anything from $50 to $10k, but 99% of the time it’s $50. Side bets in blackjack are sucker bets.

This wasn’t free bet blackjack however, just a regular old 3/2 table. I am staying far away from the free bet **** [emoji23]
Sure looks like one in that pick. The yellow circle bonus bet looks like the free bet spot.
Appears maybe there are gold coins in the dealer rack.
It’s the only game I’ve seen that has anything to do with a wheel spin for a dealer 16.
But what the hell do I know.
The yellow circle you see is the buster bet side bet, if the dealer busts you get paid depending on the cards he busted with. The coins are just 50c coins for when the player bets 75 for example and gets a blackjack (pays $112.5 on a $75 bet so need to use 50c coins).
All tables at Aria have the wheel
I can take a pic later of the table if you want [emoji23]
All good. Top notch clarification. I’ve been molested on the freebet tables too many times, was having ptsd. Carry on.
