It is definitely “odd” for the president to do that hating in a public forum. Odd in that no president has done it since like Colonial times.

Given the well known skew among the under30 between males and females, and the smaller (but still very significant) skew between whites and nonwhites, this might mean under30 white men approve Trump 70% or more. X gen white men perhaps around 65%.

I guess my only counter to this is that the areas where food is grown are right next to the massive urban areas so the food growers are generally outnumbered

I don't think "middle aged dudes" were wrong at the time to be obsessed by Greta, at least in europe, given she was invited to the european parliament to speak in like 2019 (unlike i think Swift to Congress).

I'm not saying that people HAVE to react similarly to "Aw, how cute, shes very passionate about the environment and hopefully this leads to a life long passion for policy" but reacting with "I despise this little girl and I will unleash my hate and vitriol with the force of 1000 suns" is definitely the wrong reaction.

That "little girl" singlehandedly spearheaded a massive increase in the greens share of the vote in Europe to the point we passed disastrous policies which annihilated entire sectors of the economy and caused untold economic damage to millions of europeans.

So again, *in europe*, given the extent of the damage directly attributable to her (and her handlers), no amount of hatred is unjustifed. She is one of the worst calamities to happen in european politics in decades, second only to Merkel.

Close to half of all agricultural production comes from states that usually vote blue. California has more agricultural revenue than any other state, which has been the case for as long as I can remember. It's true that agricultural counties in blue or purple states with a lot of agriculture (California, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Carolina, Illinois, etc.) vote more Republican than the urban centers, but I suspect that a civil war in the United States would break along state lines for the most part.

In any case, I don't think that long term food production would be much of an advantage for the red states in a civil war scenario. The United States has a lot of arable land, and even if that were not the case, food is an easy thing to import, and the blue states control a lot of ports and coastline.

So, judges have stopped a few things trump is trying to do. I'm wondering how long before he just gives them the middle finger and does it anyway. And, starts jailing people trying to enforce the rulings.

Hatred from the oval office has been normalized by Trump's actions and statements to such a degree that I fear Luciom is just saying the silent thing out loud.

In that sense it is probably good that the silent thing still sounds repugnant when spoken or written. For now.

People in the United States tend to assume that court rulings will not be ignored. But in a lot of countries, that is exactly what happens.

IF there's no real comeback on Trump ignoring the courts, he'll of course ignore them.

Vance's words recently about court rulings are standard 'telegraph our views so our disciples have a chance to internalise it and be behind us when we do it', like the time Trump was seeding the idea of voter fraud way before the vote when he lost, so he could prime the morons.

They have a very simple playbook because they don't need anything more sophisticated for morons to be behind them, or the timid and scared to keep their heads down and hope it all blows over soon.

If so, what is your opinion of the likelihood it is true given the writing style and details provided.

I guess if it's following the nazi playbook, we will eventualy get the creation of department that is effectively a secret police and secret homeland intelligence gathering arm soon, and encouragement for people to rat out anyone who doesn't like Trump and his policies? Or more generally, are 'enemies of the state'. Or basically retool FBI and Homeland Security for this purpose.

Pretty sure we'll get it well before mid-terms. He needs to create suitable fear to be able to scare people out of voting for the dems by then, I would guess.

There's, at minimum, no less reason to believe the "assassination attempt" was fake than celebrity clones and the moon landing and whatever else. We're never gonna know, in all likelihood, but that whole thing feels fake to me. You mean to tell me the same guy that is PETRIFIED of physical confrontation and direct contact with the unwashed masses suddenly jumps right up after getting his ear Tyson'd and screams and pumps his fist?
