Donald J. Trump (For everyone else except Victor)
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
Modding is a privilege? I thought it was a thankless burden.
The fact that you’re implying it is perfectly acceptable for a head of state to hate one of their citizens for endorsing their political opponent and that it’s weird to think otherwise is shockingly the most disgusting thing posted in the past 100 posts that includes inso’s fetish and anything PB or fgators uttered
Microbet, I misunderstood what you said, I thought what you said was about the citizenry, not the head of state.
Oh yes, only tyrants and autocrats publicly hate specific people.
Cockwomble's gonna cockwomble.

acceptable? for something to be odd it has to surprise me. Nothing to do with me liking it or not.
For example i am not surprised you misread what i write in bad faith here, but it's not odd for you to do so.
It is not odd for TRUMP to hate on someone very famous who opposed him publicly. Not odd at all. Same as it is not surprising at all, not odd at all, to see you spew venom against me randomly by misreading what i wrote very plainly.
It is definitely “odd” for the president to do that hating in a public forum. Odd in that no president has done it since like Colonial times.
In general you are right but you fail to consider a very important logistic element: republicans control the areas where food is grown, democrats live all amassed in easy-to-starve urban areas.
In case of an actual sectarian civil war with the militaries being approx evenly spread (any side who gets more militaries auto wins so we have to model the only case when that doesn't happen), having the farms (and the fossil fuel extraction areas) is worth more than having the universities and the museum
I guess my only counter to this is that the areas where food is grown are right next to the massive urban areas so the food growers are generally outnumbered
I think the president of the united state outrage tweeting bout a musician is about as weird as the obsession middle aged dudes had with teenager Gretta Thunberg.

I don't think "middle aged dudes" were wrong at the time to be obsessed by Greta, at least in europe, given she was invited to the european parliament to speak in like 2019 (unlike i think Swift to Congress).

I'm not saying that people HAVE to react similarly to "Aw, how cute, shes very passionate about the environment and hopefully this leads to a life long passion for policy" but reacting with "I despise this little girl and I will unleash my hate and vitriol with the force of 1000 suns" is definitely the wrong reaction.
I don't think Trump should be thinking about Taylor Swift at all.

That "little girl" singlehandedly spearheaded a massive increase in the greens share of the vote in Europe to the point we passed disastrous policies which annihilated entire sectors of the economy and caused untold economic damage to millions of europeans.
So again, *in europe*, given the extent of the damage directly attributable to her (and her handlers), no amount of hatred is unjustifed. She is one of the worst calamities to happen in european politics in decades, second only to Merkel.

Right, she caused Brexit, the Greek economic collapse, and probably had her hand in the Ukraine invasion as well. Just an evil horrible person all around

Close to half of all agricultural production comes from states that usually vote blue. California has more agricultural revenue than any other state, which has been the case for as long as I can remember. It's true that agricultural counties in blue or purple states with a lot of agriculture (California, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Carolina, Illinois, etc.) vote more Republican than the urban centers, but I suspect that a civil war in the United States would break along state lines for the most part.
In any case, I don't think that long term food production would be much of an advantage for the red states in a civil war scenario. The United States has a lot of arable land, and even if that were not the case, food is an easy thing to import, and the blue states control a lot of ports and coastline.
So, judges have stopped a few things trump is trying to do. I'm wondering how long before he just gives them the middle finger and does it anyway. And, starts jailing people trying to enforce the rulings.

Hatred from the oval office has been normalized by Trump's actions and statements to such a degree that I fear Luciom is just saying the silent thing out loud.
In that sense it is probably good that the silent thing still sounds repugnant when spoken or written. For now.
Not that I think there has been a lot of saints in the oval office, but the funny thing about decorum and respect is that it might seem cumbersome or even feigned when it is the norm, but oh boy will you notice that it is important when it is gone.

I wrote the following a few weeks ago and my opinion has not changed.
I expect Trump to precipate some sort of constitutional crisis during his second term. I doubt that he sees any value in Marbury v. Madison.
I don't know what the issue will be. I initially thought that it might be birthright citizenship, but that issue is going to get in front of the SCOTUS on a rocket ship. I doubt that Trump thinks it is a good idea to stick his finger in the eye of a generally friendly Supreme Court. For that reason, I guess that I expect Trump to test the rule of law b
People in the United States tend to assume that court rulings will not be ignored. But in a lot of countries, that is exactly what happens.
IF there's no real comeback on Trump ignoring the courts, he'll of course ignore them.
Vance's words recently about court rulings are standard 'telegraph our views so our disciples have a chance to internalise it and be behind us when we do it', like the time Trump was seeding the idea of voter fraud way before the vote when he lost, so he could prime the morons.
They have a very simple playbook because they don't need anything more sophisticated for morons to be behind them, or the timid and scared to keep their heads down and hope it all blows over soon.
A PA State Police whistleblower has officially submitted a criminal complaint accusing PA Governer Josh Shapiro was behind Trump's assassination attempt in Butler, PA this past summer.
This was the governor's statement about the assassination attempt the day after.
In the last couple of minutes it almost sounds like he was blaming Trump for it (read between the lines to easily see he suffers from TDS).
Broken YouTube LinkPresident Trump was just told about this today.

Another predictable outcome, making up **** to jail your political adversaries.

Local ****** makes absurd allegation. So?
PB,
Did you actually read that complaint?
If so, what is your opinion of the likelihood it is true given the writing style and details provided.
I guess if it's following the nazi playbook, we will eventualy get the creation of department that is effectively a secret police and secret homeland intelligence gathering arm soon, and encouragement for people to rat out anyone who doesn't like Trump and his policies? Or more generally, are 'enemies of the state'. Or basically retool FBI and Homeland Security for this purpose.
Or maybe that's a little too far for even Trump this early? I would guess when his popularity rating declines cos no cheap eggs etc
Pretty sure we'll get it well before mid-terms. He needs to create suitable fear to be able to scare people out of voting for the dems by then, I would guess.
Playbig's natural conspiracism seems to mysteriously vanish whenever it's Donald Trump that may be doing something bad.
There's, at minimum, no less reason to believe the "assassination attempt" was fake than celebrity clones and the moon landing and whatever else. We're never gonna know, in all likelihood, but that whole thing feels fake to me. You mean to tell me the same guy that is PETRIFIED of physical confrontation and direct contact with the unwashed masses suddenly jumps right up after getting his ear Tyson'd and screams and pumps his fist?
In before I'm told Trump would NEVER allow one of his supporters to be killed in an attempt to increase Trump's popularity 🙄😮
