I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

This is the smart part of "MAGA" which you people deny exists

Bill Ackman

@BillAckman

BILL ACKMAN LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

I would NEVER deny that Bill Ackman exists. I love this guy.

here's a funny profile of Bill

Ackman believes that our lives are often fated from birth. “I have a view that people become their names,” he told me. “Like, I’ve met people named Hamburger that own McDonald’s franchises.” We’d been talking for nearly an hour and a half when Ackman asked me what my name was, hoping to offer a diagnosis. After he seemed momentarily stumped by my surname, I offered him my first name, which he misheard as Reed. “Read … write,” he said, before turning back to himself. “So, my name is Ackman — it’s like Activist Man.”

His nephew enrolled at Harvard, as did his eldest daughter — which, Ackman told me recently, is where the trouble started.

“She became, like, an anti-capitalist. Like practically a Marxist,” Ackman said in January, leaning across a large conference-room table at the offices of his hedge fund, Pershing Square. “We’d talk about capitalism, and she would freak out at the table.” His daughter was in the social-studies department just like her father, and rowed crew, too, but she had chosen to write her thesis on “The Concept of Reification in Western Marxist Thought,” having come to very different conclusions than her father had about how the world should work. Ackman said it felt as though she “had been indoctrinated” into a cult

By January, Ackman’s second wife, the glamorous and slightly uncategorizable scientist-architect Neri Oxman, was being accused of plagiarism, too, and Ackman was promising to not only sue Business Insider, which published the allegations, but to use artificial intelligence to audit the work of other college professors as an act of spousal vengeance. The drama was playing out live on X, where Ackman has been posting daily to his 1.2 million followers, sometimes going on for thousands of words and with such a manic persistence — “I am posting while on the elliptical for better time management”

this one is next to a picture of the couple, with the caption

with his wife, Neri Oxman, who once told him, "please don't tweet anymore"

Yeah. All we need to do is train affirmative action rurals like Vance in solid state physics and algorithmic design. Their backwards culture and intelligence levels won't be a problem at all!

You genuinely think you're a morally superior person to all the poors and low-IQ-havers, don't you?

this is the liberal version of IQ-based race science -- you have a lot in common here with the groypers

"backwards culture" -- next will you tell them to pull their damn pants up?

He hasn't defended any liberal trope in this forum to my knowledge, not sure why you think he is liberal he looks a lot more like a Lincoln project kind of guy

Depending on the list you check, the most needed profession in the USA right now is either registered nurse or home health and personal care aide.

There is also a huge demand for restaurant cooks, PV installers, forklift operators, electricians, plumbers and so on.

Where is the significant state-subsidized investment in forming those skillsets? can people get a federal insured loan to access a course to become an electrician with the same ease they can get a loan to study gender issues in college?

It’s much much easier to become an electrician. Community colleges are subsidized already, republicans have voted against making it free for ideological reasons. Many rurals also probably think community colleges teach esoteric stuff they don’t understand rather than practical stuff they don’t understand like automotive repair or plc coding.

he's a centrist Democrat, has advocated on behalf of Democrats, but there's plenty of overlap between those types and Lincoln Project types, so, it's all good

There are hundreds of thousands of non-Trump supporters in rural areas. Many of them are no less intelligent and/or not morally inferior to you (or I), and that's in spite of their "backwards culture", Mr. Cosby.

I think you should consider that mass poverty may be the primary cause of problems in rural areas, instead of this reactionary idea that there's something inherently wrong and backwards with rural culture. It would also be cool if you would finally realize there are other kinds of intelligence than math skills. You are one truly math-obsessed cat.

(and, of course, everyone should stop pretending like there's a serious difference between MAGA and non-MAGA Republicans)

Edit: for the record, I agree that you're morally superior to JD Vance, no doubt, you never left your addict mother, in the throes of withdrawal, in a heroin hotel so you could make your interview at Yale

this place is already a circle jerk, but imagine the valhalla of the masturbatorium if people like BJ weren't here inciting riots.

BJ shouldn't be banned because people should be able to say what they want and others should be able to deal with it, but your point is stupid and wrong. BJ, and those like him, unify a lot of people who would otherwise disagree. They make a group that is not really homogenous seem like an echo chamber.

There are adult schools and community colleges everywhere that have programs to get into all the trades. Those are very low cost. There are private schools for trades and there are federal loans for them.

(Trades including stuff like nursing)

I don't know what this means.

Is the suggestion that he posts stuff that people agree with, when they otherwise wouldn't?

What about other people that post stuff in thread that people agree with? Is the view that those people would already agree on everything?

My 'point' was also lyrics from a song in case you missed it

I have no interest whatsoever in BJ (or anyone else) being banned, but if you think this place becomes a circle jerk without right-wingers like him you haven't been reading carefully. Do you not see me and others going hard at liberals and centrists? Check out the I/P thread. Check out the posts I just made to ecriture.

There's plenty of conflict on here and elsewhere between liberals and the actual left. Right-wingers don't fully understand just how stark the ideological divide is between these two groups.

Originally it was dialogue from Will Ferrell in the movie Blades of Glory, which then was sampled on Jay-Z and Kanye West's "N-Words in Paris" (note: not the actual name of the song)

The point is that a few Trumpy idiots here unify a lot of other people who would otherwise find lots of things to disagree with. Like, I have disagreed lots with ecriture and also with gorgonian, but, we are all unified here because we all loathe the stupid fat fascist and his idiot followers so much.

Like if you think karltheogmarx and d2e4 would be circle jerking if left on their own you're really really dumb.

It's not gay if you don't watch each other, right?

For real though, microbet is right. There is no echo chamber, it just appears that way because normal people despise MAGA turds.

This a really good, very often overlooked point. He has no chance of appreciating how true it is, though.

Why do the actual sickos that are raping kids always seem to be kool-aid drinking cultists?

It's a typical BJ post. Every single word of it just completely made up with no evidence to support it at all.

I grew up in an area most would look at and call rural, though it might technically be sparse suburban. I never said anything about non Trumpy rurals and 100s of thousands of them would also agree with my statements about rural culture.

Of course poverty is a main driver of their backwards culture including hostility to immigrants and non white evangelical world views etc.

Seems to always be true. Thus typical is nail-hammer.

Yeah. All we need to do is train affirmative action rurals like Vance in solid state physics and algorithmic design. Their backwards culture and intelligence levels won't be a problem at all!

Implicit in your language is the idea that rural culture is ITSELF backwards and produces a disproportionate number of low-intelligence humans. For it to be otherwise, you would have to separate "affirmative action rurals like Vance" from the rest of those within rural culture... but then, why would you assume that the Vance-style rurals necessarily have a problem with insufficiently high levels of intelligence for high-minded and/or scientific work, like you allude to in your last sentence? These are the strivers, right? JD Vance got into Yale, wrote a hit book, and clearly succeeded within his wretched little world. He's an intelligent person. He would have been able to be at least mildly competent at whatever the hell solid state physics is had he trained in that field.

Anyway, this has gotten lawyerly and boring, so I'm sorry for even bringing it up and will henceforth STFU.

Trump can't form sentences that make sense and has to be the lowest IQ person ever to be president .

Regarding the pedophile accusations, Trump was Epstein's buddy and likely executioner. Biden wasn't associated with Epstein.

If you think Trump had anything to do with killing Epstein (who def was murdered) you just don't know how the world works, like at all, like you should put down all the conspiracy theories and step away from the internet. At first it was cute when complete amateurs, who spent their whole lives suggesting anyone who deviated from the party propaganda wore tin foil hats, started dipping their toes into conspiracy analysis. Now it's like you're a bunch of mind rotted zombies running around screaming nonsense. Just stop. Stop.

As far as Trump being the lowest IQ president...well he's at least figured out that IQ doesn't matter which is more than can be said for you. I detest Trump at levels you can't imagine because you don't even know what he is. You don't have the classification system in place to know what Trump is. I have zero doubt you go around taking invalid lines of attack against Trump like Russiagate or documentgate or Jan. 7th. You just do this repeatedly because you are getting that single from rival elites but they are only advising those lines of attack because they like most everything else Trump is doing policy wise and they have no alternative program to advance. There is no "Project 2025" equivalent from the Dems. But these invalid attacks on Trump allow him to weaponize the truth in retaliation, resulting in the fraying away of any shared consensus reality. You (as in people like you) have to stop taking direction from the Dems and the MSM and start thinking for yourself and reground yourself in reality.

If you want to dabble in conspiracy theories it is far more likely that Epstein was Mossad and that Trump is compromised. Trump was on the Lolita Express. Epstein was clearly keeping records and clearly connected to intelligence. We don't know what records he kept on who so Trump is by no means excluded. Trump is doing everything Israel asks even though it's against his "America 1st" agenda and the odds of Trump not being some degree of secret Jew hater, given his age and his inclinations and things that have come out (like the only book Trump reads is a book of speeches by Hitler) is practically zero.

Is your problem that I was being too generous, and I should have said "millions"? You're gonna have to help me out here.

I have some 30 members of my family that live in rural Colorado/Utah/New Mexico who hate Trump (and some who don't)

Or do you think that everybody lives in cities?
