US Immigration Crisis
I didn’t see an immigration thread so I figured I would add one. This problem seems to be worsening everyday of the current admin. Hopefully some of our new elected officials can help with this. Mr. Luttrell is a great start
As a leftist, I do not believe in immigration to America. This is a horrible racist place where you can't get free healthcare and everyone hates everyone who isn't a white male. By contrast, Mexico and many European countries are diverse and welcoming to minorities. I care very deeply about migrants and wish them to be in countries that care about them.
Yeah, these past 4 years have been a pretty good time to be a white male in America unless you wanted a new job, promotion, small biz loan, get into college and a few other things.
Just revoke zoning laws and any other bs regulation preventing supply, and I'm pretty sure the market will correct these excesses, way better than trying to tell what private individuals should do with their own properties and money.

the only thing holding housing markets hostage are regulations. People should be allowed to build how much they want on their land , and to do so without insane rules about how to build (property rights again).

I have lived 4 years in Rio, and favelas allowed people who otherwise would in many cases be homeless easy access to a roof over their heads.
And the existence of favelas made housing in non-top areas fairly cheap as well, given the far lower demand pressure (compared to what it would have been without favelas).
Bidonvilles in general achieve that.
