**** 2023 Season-Long NFL PEEHS! ****
Hello again, football fans!
After TEN outstanding years as the GOAT PEEHS Drehpehs, the founder of our beloved game KrazyKris has decided to call it a career. This game has been so much fun, and brought this community together over the years, that I felt it’d be a shame if it ended here. With Kris’ blessing, I’m taking up the mantle and hosting the game so it continues!
As will quickly become apparent, I’m not Kris. I promise I’m not as creative or funny or thorough with my reveals, and you can FORGET about the yearly stats breakdown! I’ll do my best to get the reveals up in a timely manner, but I work, and it’s a long season through the holidays. On that note, I won’t be available for Thanksgiving, so Rawlz517 has graciously volunteered to step in for a guest reveal. If I need more help with reveals, we’ll play it by ear.
I’ve never played PEEHS before, what is it?
PEEHS is basically a fun, free NFL football futures contest. You make an entry by giving answers to the 25 questions before the season starts, and I reveal the answers once a week as the season goes along. For every question, your answer will either be CORRECT, or INCORRECT.
If your answer is CORRECT, your score for that question will simply be the number of people who selected your same correct answer. If you’re the only person to select your correct answer, that’s an ACE! …and your score for that question is 1.
If your answer is INCORRECT, then your score for that question is the number of people who picked the SHEEP answer (most popular answer), plus the number of different correct answers submitted for that question. The SHEEP (most popular answer) can be either correct or incorrect; all that matters is the number of people who selected the SHEEP.
It’s more important to be CORRECT in all your answers, but also be among the fewest participants that select your correct answers.
Scores add up per question over the season. Lowest score wins.
How do I enter?
Anyone can enter by sending me a single-spaced, non-numbered PM with your answers. Please correctly spell first and last names for player names, and just use mascots for team names.
Since we get questions on this every year...

Our next most popular answer was played by 4 contestants. The Minnesota Vikings season started bad, then battled back to .500, then got derailed for good with Kirk Cousins' injury. They missed the playoffs this year.

Our next corrects are a pair of 3-point answers. It seems like the shocking playoff collapse the Los Angeles Chargers had in last year's playoffs represented the high water mark of the Brandon Staley Era. They still have a quarterback, and some pricey defensive players that might still be good, but they missed the playoffs this year.

Also played by 3 players, our next correct is the Seattle Seahawks. It's the end of an era, as Pete Carroll is moving on. Big shoutout to Bobby Wagner, who even at this stage of his career, finished the season top 10 in tackles. They missed the playoffs this season.

There were no aces for this question. Question 22 closes with a pair of 2-point answers.
The Jacksonville Jaguars had a pretty epic late season collapse, after leading the division for much of the season. They missed the playoffs in 2023.

Our final two point correct was played by yours truly, and one other (ace-BLOCKER). I never root for injuries, but when Joe Burrow went down, I felt like I had this pick sewn up. The Cincinnati Bengals lost a bunch of quality defensive players, notably Jesse Bates... who is completely awesome, and worth every penny he's making. The Bengals finished a game over .500, and in last place in a tough division.

With a SHEEP score of 16, plus 6 different correct answers submitted, incorrects will receive a score of 22 for this question.
Here are the scores after 22 questions!
Big boost for pwnsall, putting up a deuce when most of the field got 16 or 22 points.
newguyhere also narrows the chase up top... it's shaping up to be a podium race for the title!
Let's keep revealing!
23. Name a team to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs during the regular season.
For this question, we have 15 correct answers, and 31 incorrect answers.
We'll start by revealing the incorrects first.

The LARGEST SHEEP IN THE TOURNAMENT was played by 17 players. The Los Angeles Chargers had TWO chances to beat the Chiefs, including a meaningless Week 18 game when the Chiefs were locked into the 3 seed, but came up short both times.

Our next incorrect was played by 2 players, including yours truly. I went with the Minnesota Vikings, and I think Jefferson was out for that game. Anyway, they lost to the Chiefs 27-20.

The remaining incorrects are would-be ace hunters.
The Miami Dolphins were defeated by the Chiefs in Germany.
newguyhere
The New England Patriots lost by 10 back in Week 15.
MrsWookie
The New York Jets kept it close, but lost to the Chiefs by 3 in Week 4.

The only unplayed correct answer, of all teams, were the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl rematch! The Eagles won 21-17 back in Week 11, giving them their 10-1 start.
...It all went sideways after that, at least for the regular season!
This question's most popular correct answer was the Las Vegas Raiders. They haven't been a great team the last few years, but they always seem to play the Chiefs tough. The Raiders lost the first matchup, but went into Arrowhead and got the win 20-14 in Week 16.

Our next corrects are a pair of 3-pointers. The Detroit Lions ended the drama for this question early, by winning the NFL kickoff game in thrilling fashion back in Week 1.

Our next 3-point correct was somewhat surprising when it happened, but it was the start of the Denver Broncos playing much better than they showed in the early part of the season. The Broncos made Mahomes look about as bad as he's ever looked in the regular season, getting the win 24-9.

Our next correct was played by 2 players. The Buffalo Bills got the monkey off their backs, and beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead 20-17. It won't erase the 00:13 game, but if the Bills win tomorrow, they get the Chiefs to come to Orchard Park next week!

Question 23 closes with one lone ace... when the HOMER pick comes in for the WIN! The Green Bay Packers have gotten better in every game they played this year, and they beat the Chiefs 27-19 in Week 13.

With a SHEEP score of 17, plus 5 different correct answers submitted, incorrects will receive a score of 23 for this question.
