yep, I thought Maye looked very good in that dumpster fire last year. I'd choose him over Daniels to build my franchise around...pretty much because I still worry about the hits Daniels takes and his frame
I've been wondering who I'd choose going forward, although Daniels' rookie performance makes it hard to take the risk. I think I already talked about my preference for younger prospects, but loads of starting experience seems to be important, too.
(I did not think Nix would be this good, because he was so inaccurate his three years at Auburn. I thought Sean Payton was BSing about him being their guy just because he was the last guy available. Don't doubt Sean, I guess.)
Maybe at QB it doesn't matter so much that you declare early as it does that you start early and play well early. Daniels wasn't Heisman Daniels his true freshman year at Arizona State, but he did have a 17:2 TD:INT ratio. And Daniels seems to be better at avoiding hits Lamar-style rather than taking too much contact RG3-style.
after seeing every snap of Nix at Oregon i don’t predict him in the HOF but Peyton is a vvg fit for what he does well.
Purdy seems like this generation's Romo imo.
I'd prbly pay the going rate and not let perfect be the enemy of good.
Signing Purdy works if you're bought into the idea of having an absolute ceiling of runner-up.
"Can't win with a QB whose best season ended with an overtime loss in the Super Bowl."
Purdy is way more mobile than the other two, that's why I comped him to Romo (and Cousins is a poorish comp imo)
Goff wins with more talent, Purdy with less, and Tua... well he's a truly limited player
Purdy is much more of a playmaker than you're giving him credit for (I'd have him as like the ~12th best qb fwiw, I do think the analytics prbly overrate him a bit)
Oh come on now.
Purdy, Tua, Goff. They're all the same guy. Above average QBs who can only win if they're surrounded by a lot of talent.
Talent that's a lot more difficult to come by if you overpay your QB.
Well at least you've admitted he's above average now. And again, Hurts just did it, though the defense is a bit of a unicorn situation. There still hasn't been a solution other than just suck for a while and hope an elite QB falls in your lap, but since there's apparently only five elite QBs you'll be waiting decades

I named 9 who I thought were better above. If you also think Stroud is…who is the 11th?

I don't recall saying Purdy wasn't a good QB. Maybe in jest.
You only think you do because that's what teams have done recently and you're used to the status quo.
How's that been working out for teams that have over paid average QBs?
What are they going to do if they don't pay him?
Tag him, trade him, or just move on and draft another QB or get someone in free agency. Maybe they're really bad for a year or two, but it's better than capping your ceiling by overpaying for average talent.
.
Geno to the Raiders for a 3rd, wtf? Seattle completely blowing it up

He may be better than them now, but current contract aside I think I'd still rather have Maye, Penix, and potentially Nix and/or McCarthy if I were a GM betting on the come.
His arm talent is a bit lacking comparatively. (I'm more than a bit anti-Caleb until I see his fatal flaw has been remedied.)
I think Baker and Trevor might be superior if roles were reversed too. Not sure I'd rather have Goff fwiw (in a vacuum).
So raiders almost certainly are drafting jeanty right?
my abdomen readily poised for seppuku if ashton jeanty is not an immediate nfl fit
for you fantasy bros predict instant value no matter draft position

The rookies are always tempting and I agree that their upside is higher. Albeit potential doesn’t always get realised and their development isn’t linear. Like Stroud wasn’t as good last year
not claiming as a reliable source and have not researched
but heard on radio today stroud last season had 66 snaps total with a complete wr group
Seems like a win win to me
Raiders are on the cusp of being maybe a playoff team and this could get them there and geno next year is probably better than the options available right now. Plus you can’t resign Crosby to that deal and waste it
Obvious reasons why it’s a win for a blow it all up Seahawks
