Watched Run Silent Run Deep a couple of months ago. I try to mix it up. Last year was Mister Roberts and The Bedford Incedent. In Harms Way is always a favorite as well as the Midways, Wings of Eagles and The Enemy Below. Lots of great Navy movies though and its always easy to find great ones I havent seen in a while.
We will have to do something next year for your 50th, MrB.
I haven't seen it since I was a kid, but I always liked They Were Expendable , but the book was even better.
Happy New Years Eve! This year and this holiday season seemed to zip by faster than ever. It seems like the older I get the faster times flies. But then again the things I did this summer seems like years ago?
Anyway I will spend New Years Eve like I always do. In solitude reflecting on the past year and planning for the upcoming year. I will have a few drinks, eat some bad for me food and likely pass out well before midnight. Odds of me seeing midnight are probably greater than 1000-1 😀 Had way too many parties/gatherings over the last couple of weeks. Started going to the gym daily 4 days ago as I pursue my endless struggle to get in better shape. I am making progress and in way better shape than I was 10 years ago but it seems the older I get the harder it gets. I got in about 4000 miles of walking this year but walking just aint cutting it anymore and I need to get that sweaty gym work in.
Anyway Happy New Year Lounge with any luck we will still be here in another year!

Gonna call it a year! Only made it 2 movies into my triple feature but too tired to go on. From a sports fan perspective 2024 was one of the worst ever. My White Sox set a MLB record for losses. My Bears sucked ass and had some of the most embarrassing losses in NFL history. My Black Hawks? Basically an unwatchable last place team :(
On the bright side 2025 has to be better right! Can't be worse can it? Anyway what really matters is 2024 was a tremendous year in the markets! 2025 can definitely be worse. I am/will be hedging much more aggressively. If the hedges suck who cares that means we keep going.

Yesterday fely very much like a Sunday. Today feels very much like a Monday. The holidays have me all screwed up 😀 Even though I am retired I still follow the markets closely so that keeps me in a traditional weekly structure.
I keep a calendar on the fridge for the very reason John mentions. Crossing yesterday off first thing in the morning gives me the indication of what today is.
On the neighbors website, a woman is looking for statues of Saint Joseph to aid in selling her home. The idea is to bury the statue upside down in front of the house.
This a well known RI thing. Anybody else ever heard of this?
Oh, and bathtub Virgin Mary's all over RI.

I was working above a drop ceiling in a Korean establishment once and apparently they think it's good luck to put a dead fish above their door.
For bathtub Marys, you can always come to Texas, but the championship ones are in Tucson.

Played two days of poker at Foxwoods. My friend gets free rooms, so stayed a couple nights. Won a total of $250.00.
These days I play less than ten times a year. It's fun if you have a few characters at the table; otherwise, it ain't that much fun.
