So sorry for your loss Tom. It is always hard, even when it is the right thing to do.
Good luck crossing the Rainbow Bridge, Titus.

Awesome! Thanks for taking the time.
Speaking of Mississippi squirrels, I saw that Ray Stevens recently broke his neck.
Thanks for all of the thoughts, folks. They meant a lot. Even with nearly six months to get prepared for today, it wasn't enough time.
May heaven be filled with squirrels.
😀
God speed, Titus, on your journey! And know you had a loving human looking after you in this life, who will miss you greatly.
RIP Titus
Thank you, Nate.
Just an FYI for anyone that I'm sure wasn't wondering........so Monty passed on 10/29/25. And let's just say there was a flea issue at the end.
Well 23+ weeks later I'm declaring the fleas finally gone. I just COULD NOT get rid of them in the basement. What an f'in ordeal. And if one more person would have said "oh you must have mice down there" I would have lost it. (I did hire an exterminator due to this theory.......he said zero chance of any vermin.)
For the time being I'll still wear my sweet white tube socks when going into the basement for flea detection but probably no need.
Do fleas get a rainbow bridge?
they don't deserve one
Rest easy Titus and Monty. Condolences to their humans
Little Ollie has had an exciting couple of weeks, concluding with a stay at the boardinghouse with his pal Mia (dog in-law) while we attended an out of town wedding this weekend. Here he is passed out after we picked him up this afternoon.
One good dog, sleeping, filled with good old dog dreams... - WSP

LOL!
I know the look. I picked Mosby up this morning from being boarded with a bunch of his closest friends for 48 hours. He has woken up a couple of times to go outside and try to convince me they didn't feed him this morning. The rest of the time he has looked like a smaller version of Ollie.
Lucky dog!
And handsome indeed!
I bet that dog knows sign language.
Curious if it barks?
"You get the cameraman! I'll take the one who's making me lie up here against my will right now!"
Everyone's dogs are so nice and clean. My dogs have never cleaned up that well.
He does. He knows signs for sit, stay, out, no, eat, and down. He wears a training collar with vibration for recall when not line of site, and mild zap if I really have to reinforce "no" (very rare). When we're working in the yard he "checks in" on me every few minutes. He resects the invisible fence line (usually without that collar even on) better than the hearing dogs.
His bark is loud - he's 70# and clearly doesn't know how loud he is.
He barks at passerby, but - unlike our two hearing dogs who just don't stop - it's more of a "Ima go tell my dad!" and then he comes to the door - or me if I'm outside.
He also occasionally "hears" or senses something when we're watching TV. We thought it was furnace or subwoofer, but it's completely random. He alerts, launches, and then runs the length of the house before deciding there's no threat.
