I think I figured it out…
The “fu got mine” mentality has led to every conflict there ever was in the world.
It just dawned on me while driving when this woman came out of nowhere and passed me on the right (I was in the middle lane) and she cut in front of the truck w trailer in front of me in heavy traffic.
It’s a microcosm for how the world works. People literally don’t care about anyone but themselves.
Palestine and Gaza are barely included in the news cycle nowadays. The Gazans were played by Hamas and now they will suffer the consequences. People like Bill Haywood are almost completely inconsequential in the grand scheme. You’re a nobody who doesn’t contribute to society one way or another. There may be some surface level pandering to these people but they will never be important enough on a global scale to actually dictate policy. Grifting money for UN officials and Hamas leaders was the extent of the Gazan’s usefulness. The Israelis have positioned themselves as leaders in high demand markets such as AI, defense tech and cloud tech. The Palestinians have spent a century perfecting the art of human shields and making rockets out of aid materials, neither of which are highly desirable to first world nations.
I forgot, the Jaffa Orange is the Palestinians crowning contribution to humanity.
