The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

So what's new?

I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet...i'd be shocked if they lost the election now.

Just shows just how incompetent Conservatives are.

Would not be surprised if Trump hates Trudeau as Trudeau has owned him pretty much the entire time he has been President, he has to resort to childish name calling

by Dunyain k

Probably has hated him for awhile for some slight. Trump is just petty like that.

There both extremely petty and narcissistic

Not qualified for the job but we know how she got it

I think we have to start entertaining the idea that Trump has absolutely no clue what he's doing

Agreed and we witnessed a leader for 9 years clueless on the job .

For those not well versed in right wing conspiracy theories, lozen is alluding to the nonsensical theory that she slept with Trudeau to get the job. This classic sexist trope that acts as if an accomplished woman (Joly was a successful lawyer before politics making her more qualified than poilievre who is a lifelong politician) is just there for her body.

This kind of sexism is gross, but not unexpected.

Actually no I had speculated that she had an affair with Justin but I was referring to Justin's DEI hiring that 50% of cabinet must be women which is the dumbest policy there is . She was a DEI hire and has proven to be incompetent at all the portfolios she has handled

Bernier has the best take. If people want to seriously do what's best for Canada step 1 would be to stop assuming Trump doesn't know what he's doing.

Oh yes I'm SO sorry. Sometimes the successful accomplished woman is just sleeping with the man. Sometimes the successful accomplished woman is just there as a "DEI hire". When it is a woman, they can never be there because of being successful and accomplished.

But take a man (say lifelong politician poilievre with zero experience outside of politics), you don't bat an eye.

Lmao. I mean I do agree:
Although the fentanyl and migrant issues are important, I believe they are only a pretext.
As everyone knows.

But weren't you the dude just screeching SECURE THE BORDER over and over a month ago?

To be fair, as time has gone on and it has become increasingly clear that fentanyl was just a pretext, you've seemed to have stopped screeching that talking point. But are you willing to acknowledge now that you were completely and utterly wrong?

What do you mean exactly? I think lozen took this to mean that Joly did a bad job. But I watched the interview, I think she did perfectly fine, but she is alluding now to some of the OTHER things leaking out like that possibility of being kicked out of 5 eyes, about issues with the great lake systems etc. Is that what you meant?

No he brought in many competent women but he seemed to fire all those . I would be fine with 100 % of his cabinet as women.

When you elect 100 MP's and 20 are women and you pledge to make 50% of your cabinet women that is just stupid. Now if you had 20 cabinet positions and those 20 were the most competent all good

You're way off. 43% of Liberal MPs were women in the last election (57 total not 20). Like you can be all hopping mad about the death of meritocracy going from 43% to 50%, but the simple reality is that the way you speak of Joly is alternatingly sleeping with Trudeau or just being a DEI hire is gross, is sexist, and you should stop. You can disagree with her politics if you must (although you almost never comment on specific details).

Trump knows what he is doing? On some levels yes, but mostly no imo.

What has Trump has managed to accomplish

-Piss off Europe

-Piss of Canada

-Piss off Mexico

-Further piss off China (who suggested they are up for "any" kind of war with the US).

-Further entrench the US in Gaza / Hamas matters

-Piss of his own farmers

-Piss of housing construction companies in the US
-Piss off a ton of other sectors in the US

-Disrupt and confuse the supply chain in North America with on again/off again tariffs to the point where many companies in the 3 countries have no idea what the "current" situation is at any given time, or what it will be when goods hit borders???? (And yes, I know some of the uncertainty and timing were planned to try and get companies to locate or relocate to the US where they won't have to worry about cross border uncertainty, but much of this was "unplanned," because he failed to properly assess the downside effects of what he has been doing. His supporters will claim that this is not so, that he is just playing 3D chess, but the moves he is making are primarily backtracking moves at this point, so no....not 3D chess). Trump hates conceding, and that is what he has been doing of late.

-Bail on Ukraine and weaken Zelensky, claiming he doesn't want peace (yes, they hate peace - they want to be pounded by Russia)

-Empower Russia (yes, Russia wants to pound Ukraine - Putin thanks you Trump for clearing the way)

(and now Trump is warning Russia to STOP pounding Ukraine, something Trump paved the way.

If Trump wanted this war to be easier for Russia, harder for Ukraine, and harder for Europe, then he did get what he wanted. The only problem is that he painted himself as the person to end it in 24 hours. Now the world watches it getting worse.

-Tank the markets. Markets hate uncertainty for some reason. Who knew??

-Short of a full reset on the CAN/MEX tariffs with a clear message that they will not be put back in the near future, and without some clear message to Putin on Ukraine, I don't see a path back from the direction Trump is heading.

and what has Trump gained so far??

U really have the TrudeauDS….
Each times someone talks about trump and u decided to agree , u always have to include Trudeau for w.e reason …..

You just can’t critic someone u love without trying to justify it by someone you hate .
You might say you don’t love trump but your actions are evident you do .

We both have TDS

lol I certainly don’t ….
I don’t use trump (or trudeau) every time I have to defend someone else.
I can critic something without always reverting back to trump in one way or the other …

I jump over Trump to criticize when he make something stupid , which is sadly like everyday .
But the point is , I won’t use Trump to defend Trudeau because I don’t have TDS .
I can criticize someone without the need to bring someone else ….

U probably forgot how it was impossible anyone from the government and any PC elected officials , beside some ministers , to just talk to the press ….

Trudeau eventually got bad too , clingy to power
but Harper was phenomenal too .

Oh I never said Harper was transparent but he never campaigned on it as one of his key campaign promises
