In other news

In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there are important, interesting or just plain weird things happening out there and a group of people can find these better than one.

I thought I would test with a thread for linking general news articles about "other news" and discussion. Perhaps it goes into the abyss that is page 2 and beyond, but it is worth a try.

Some guidelines:
- Try to find the "clean link", so that links to the news site directly and not a social media site. Avoid "amp-links" (google).
- Write some cliff notes on what it is about, especially if it is a video.
- It's not an excuse to make outlandish claims via proxy or link extremist content.
- If it's an editorial or opinion piece, it is polite to mark it as such.
- Note the language if it is not in English.
- There is no demand that such things be posted here, if you think a piece merits its own thread, then make one.

You don't have nearly enough information to say "he lied" without knowing who the controller was.

That's a very dumb thing to do without knowing what the facts are, because once they come out you might end up looking like a fool.

What do you think could come out that might make me look like a fool? That the air traffic control was black or an amputee?

It seems like plane **** ups have been in the news an awful lot lately. Is it a function of randomness, or something that can be fixed?

Just don't mention diversity.

Well that and MAGA destroying an innocent person's life in a fit of self-induced frenzy based on their own fantasy realm.

For what it is worth, the problem is not that Brian James does not know this, like his post implicitly claims here:

Rather, he is merely doing good old "I will focus on a a simple summary that misconstrues the story about Trump's lies, MAGA's willingness to embellish them and any victims thereof". A tried and true tested tactic that is behind 80% of the Trump's success, becau

The story as reported was accurate but because I don't agree with what it was reporting, it must be false. Or something.

Especially when it doesn't apply.

Especially when it doesn't apply.

How do you know it doesn't apply?

Because you're automatically accusing Trump of lying for saying DEI played a role in the crash when you don't even know who the controller involved was.

Nobody is getting hired as an ATC to fill out demographics. Not only do you have to clear a security clearance, there are classes at an academy and you also have to pass a stringent test.

The test alone is the distinction between qualified and unqualified, not the color of ones skin.

This would be one of those obvious points for you to have a moment of introspection but my guess is you will reject all forms of lessons learned and continue saying objectively wrong things .

No, this is also a summary of your imagination. That is, thankfully, something I am not responsible for.

Given that we know you can't even be bothered to consider that blaming a person who wasn't aboard the plane is wrong, I think it is safe to say that your expertise in aircraft-related incidents leaves a lot to be desired.
