Lhude sing Goddamm,
Raineth drop and staineth slop
And how the wind doth ramm!
Sing: Goddamm."

A few. It was an interesting process. All you got out of it was a line of bearing with no real clue as to the range, and the range could be 100s of miles. We were one of 2 TASS ships in the Pacific at the time and we always worked with the other TASS ship at a significant distance. If we both got contact where our line of bearing and their line of bearing crossed would be the general area of the contact. Then (sometimes) they would send an AS2 or an AS Helicopter to go to that area and drop sonabouys to try and pinpoint it or send the closest ship to ping sonar.
Hope everyone is off to a good start in 2026! Me? I haven't even eaten yet π It's okay though, I get to eat tomorrow. This is the 10th month in a row where I am doing a 72 hour fast at the beginning of the month. Did the first one last April and haven't missed a month yet. They get easier every time but the first day is always the worst of it. By the time you get to day 2 where I am now you pass the point of hunger and only want to eat out of habit.
I definitely need it after the holidays but I was a lot more disciplined this holiday season than ever before. Mostly because I undid a lot of good last year and didn't want to dig that hole again.
Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR! May we all find what we are looking for.
New Year's Day would have been my 39th anniversary. There are still times when I think that I want to get home and tell her something.
The sadness is relieved when I remember that no one ever called me ****head with such warmth.

please do not interpret this as rude or crass but surely she was the most substantially influential data point on your lifetime graph
and if you were so inclined as to document stories this might just be as good a place as any
On how to sing
the frog school and the skylark school
are arguing.

I would never think anyone here rude or crass.
I will tell all of you more when I have time. And, yes, she certainly was the most influential data point on my lifetime graph.

no rush
appreciate the consideration

If it wasnβt real it would have to be AI, because no one would believe it could be possible. The parlay card of stupidity & negligence is easily ten million to one. No saving the bar but shouldβve been just lost coats and no injuries. Literally fiddling while Rome burned.

I made this, maybe someone will see it on X and send it to their teenage grandkid.

EDIT:
From FOX:

From BBC:

Okinawa, or from shelved sequel to In The Mood For Love?
lol isn't that every post he makes?

That's easy to explain. Looks like we're about to learn the true meaning of Happy Meal.

AI is a super sleuth! When I was transferring slides to digital over the holidays and came accross that batch of slides I hadn't seen in 40+ years it got me nostalgic. There were a couple in there of a guy who was a very close friend when I was enlisted. We hung out a lot and even took a 2 week leave to travel Europe one cruise. We got off of the boat in Genoa Italy just before the ship went to sea for 2 weeks and then met the Ship back in Naples Italy. In between we went to France, Holland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It was blast!
Anyway I had tried a few internet type searches over the years to find him to no avail. But with AI? I typed in the few facts I knew about him (name, hometown, aprox birth date, Navy service) and AI spit back basically his entire life story with Naval service, education, addresses, jobs and phone numbers. I couldn't believe it! I haven't reached out yet but will soon. It's weird as we havent talked or seen each other since 1978. When I see guys I havent seen since college some never miss a beat and its like we are back in the 70's and with some its like wow this person is strange and wierd and nothing like I could possibly relate to. Nervous about how this might go but feel it would be on the optomistic side.
would be interested in reading updates mrbb
know a guy who tracked down his never known bio father using 23 and me or some other genetic subscription. not clear on initial separation circumstances, but there was a mutual agreement to reconnect through the platform which started a cross country voyage for him to discover extended step-Cuban heritage rooted deep in southen Florida sands.
Latest. Landlord terminated all leases where I live. We have until Feb 1st to move. I'm going to miss my ocean view, which may be the best in RI.
Took me three days to find another place, which is really tough around here since most of the rentals are for nine months.
I was able to find a condo to rent year-round in the same town, furnished (I don't have furniture and didn't want to buy any) and with a garage. Paying more than I was (rents are out of sight around Newport), but except for the view, the new place is much nicer, I think. Grabbed it based on just the pictures.
Bonus: I can walk to work in about five minutes if I need to. And I will have a garage for the first time ever.

I hope you like your new digs. (Interesting word.) I think you may enjoy having a 5-minute walk to work more than you suspect. I once had the same situation and loved it.
