ari is archie w a community card which can only be used for high

qualifier has to be 99 now for high as opposed to 66 or 99 in archie

for low it's still 8 better

So. if spit card is 3
and i have 2457x i have no made hand
if i catch an ace i have 75421 for low and five high straight for high

i saw a cooler the other day where spit card is a nine and someone started w 99xxx for trip nines and he drew three and caught trips in hand so he had quad nines and someone else had TTTTx in hand for a natural better quads...

its been nine days in 2026 also nine days been apart from gf

but we are 8-1, the opposite of tournament poker.

i dropped some chips while racking up from aria plo yesterday and lost a green chip. so tilting!

i saw scott abrams making yet another world class fold yesterday - absolutely sexy. he was getting 16-1 on river w #4 in 2-7 and made the correct laydown vs #2 after eli (also getting 16-1) laying down #5 after patting and leading out.

and this is the game im supposed to beat? jesus.

And they had an "rigged online hand" after i left :

im jobless!!!
i hv no income!!!
i gots to win!!!

i had such a weird dream last night
in the dream, erik123 and angry john have a farm together - and i got invited to help take care of the sheep.

tilting. 11 days. 9-2. not up as big as i wished. Bad night.

Man, that is a rollercoaster of a poker journey! Going from the $4/8 "rake trap" (where it feels like the house is the only winner) all the way up to taking shots at $400/800 is a massive jump. You've clearly got some heart-and probably some wild stories from those high-stakes tables.

i started w 8/16 O8 games at stones and when i came to vegas first time for *mix* (first time in vegas was for plo), i played in 8-16 then there was 80-160 running in the big room. then the first summer i was here in town i won in 40-80 and lost in 80-160, had 300 hours split between the two games. and i think meeting ted forrest in the 40 game was the lucky part for me as it made me understand limit games so much better. he would ask me questions on badugi and he would tell me the "gto" plays in stud - but more than that, it's really the kahunas that transferred haha.

the small games is part of the growth but funnily i was talking to ted yesterday on how i think i'll stop playing small games altogether it's really not worth it. it's good to drink n have fun but i'm trying to make some real money. and it's not like i have cryptos or investments sitting there making money for me. but then the downside of it is that on a day where u lose like tonight, it hits hard! Losing a couple thousand hurts.

with shot taking, i just have to thank ted on the encouragement and obviously i dont lack courage at poker table. i see with my own eyes that he buys in $2000 at 100-200 and beats the game and if you lose 2k you leave unless game is super good. jeff lisandro does the same thing. i dont think i can do that but...then with 300-600 at resorts world: when the 80 game was at resorts world and there's a big pit whale or doc sand's big plo game going on or something, the 300-600 would play on the table next to us in the glass room. I vividly remember there were times I would laugh really loud in the 80 game then john monette looks over and we make eye contact. and i always told myself - ok one day i'll go play in that game and it's not based on ego, lucky fortune, or plastic; it's due to merit. Same thing as I told my advisor that I think my physics research is a piece of shxit and lacks worthiness and that obviously goes against publication requirements, etc. So anyway, when ted goes and plays the 3-600, he buys in 10k (6k if not for the private nature of course), and he happily runs it up or loses 10k on the session. When I told ppl I played 3-600 when I had 30k they thought I was crazy - it's aggressive sure but it certainly is not as outlandish as it seems. Now I just teeter around 100-150k and hopefully a breakthrough can happen soon (and hope some of the ppl pay me back asap....)

------------------------------------------------------

i got a text from an action player that he will be in town for 80/160 next week so hopefully i take a break for a few days then play 80 next week. And no firing yellows at bacc!

Thanks - it's still triple draw right? and on last (3rd) draw instead of drawing the community card is put out?

it's triple draw and the community card is put out before the first draw. after dealer pitches to the button the fifth card, the next card on the stub is the community. You still have three unique drawing streets.

kevin haney asked me that the other day too he thought community was revealed after the 3rd draw!

i guess it's valid because it's extra "circus"

in texas i played this 6-card stud game where after the sixth street you can replace zero Or two of your six cards.

this is something i probably said before but as i listened to it again, it really hits.

scott seiver does this interview on matt berkey’s podcast. they are talking about the bobbys room psychos and the insanity it takes to play the big mix games - during the summer they play in the bacc lounge at bellagio 3k-6k mix.

berkey said that if you take a normal person and bring them into the room the person would leave and think that everybody there needs help - seiver’s response was golden: that’s also the reason they will never be there.

it hits hard because the school stuff in recent years and earlier today i sent ted this -

feel the same thing w elon musk n kobe bryant tbh. more negative than positive but all is well. u know, public figures, makes it different, for better or for worse. ah well, enjoy poker - and im starting to change my opinion on ruth sun.

Oh yeah I've played that a lot, usually it's HiLo - we call it 6 Card Replace

the best game that you should try and get in the mix is 4-dacey; it's basically Badacey but with 4 cards (best low is 432A, obviously). It's faster and better than Badacey

i played it under the name of sassy stud

ig in 4dacey u can play 3card badugi range but have more equity cuz the low half. i like that its fast

Well clearly Ted gave you some good advice, to get in the box….

no i cannot legally, he's talking about a social experiment.

but believe me, if i am allowed to work in any job in US, i would love to be a dealer, or a janitor. my dream job growing up is actually postman.

this reminds me of a student of mine graduating from college and telling me that he instantly got a 200k a year IT job. I mean good for him but it's all about perspective. I remember this guy I played 20-40 w at horseshoe a couple years ago. He said he quit job when he had 50k and just try to play poker for a living. The absolute value of net worth is all relative; i remember when i was a kid in China it was taught to us that a million chinese yen is a lot of money and not many have it - obviously as an adult, you realize there are millions of millionaires in the world. i've been w a few hookers who's lost a million in gambling and in investments.

life is long right? who's to say what's right. but obviously at the end of the day only the winner's narrative remains.

Never in 100 years would i be thinking I would uber to Gold Coast at midnight to play slots!

You mentioned Asian girl players earlier in the thread. Who do you think is the best Asian girl player at $80/$160+ mixed in LV?

caroline estrada. fairly obvious answer imo.

I would have thought it was Day. Caroline wasn’t too impressive to me. It’s highly dependent on cards & draws…

There's this girl from LA too. She is very good and I only played one session w her after the summer. I saw a pic of her today which reminded me. There are some cali girls that just crush. i played some 1-2 and 2-4 there; they are just 1) rich 2) fearless 3) simply good.

Day isn't the best in terms of results - she and I are close to the point that i call her mom and she calls me son.
But don't get me wrong; Day is good - she plays most game types well; it's just if i have to pick one, I prefer Caroline - i like her demeanor; her posture; her aggressiveness; her aura, etc. She bets huge in sports too who doesn't love that!

"the best" itself is quite arbitrary and i dont play enough sessions to tell. there's a good example - i recently found out one of the players who never lost while i was playing w him, over like 15 sessions, went thru a 30k downswing in a week. Obviously I didn't play a single session that week so I was very surprised finding out.

im just providing info based on my interpretation - the truth can be miles apart from what i see.

i end this month w 11W-3L. up crumbs.

big fight w gf, things are tricky. meeting w a student from davis tmrw (he's actually classmates w the girls who accused me of sex harass so despite the negativity there Are indeed ppl out there who appreciate me for my knowledge n ability and that's quite enough); trying to appeal the dismissal - gonan just write up a dissertation in a couple days and see what they say - of course if anyone can do it, it's me - just like if there's anyone who's capable of folding AA4K double suited preflop in omaha hi-lo cash games, it's me!

i had a weird non-credit-line marker issue at resorts world - i guess it's a bigger deal than i expected - gaming might be involved. gives me such bad taste especially w the gf fight at crockfords bacc fiasco.

if i am legally allowed to work in US and i don't have a roll, what i would do is - go work for 20-50k a year job then go play cards n parlay it up from 2/5 NLH. once i hit 500k i'm ok.

is this too simple? of course.
